Explain how any of this is in the people’s best interest, because it isn’t.

The media doesn't have a responsibility to uphold the vaguely defined "wellbeing of Americans"--as defined by KhanOfKhans, Jr. Member. It has a responsibility to report facts and criticize those in positions of power to ensure accountability. That's the point. And right now, knowing the facts might not make the American people very happy and that's okay.
