Um, I hope you realize how close the US was to war with North Korea in 1994 before the Carter trip. Because they were going to process plutonium, Clinton was seriously on the verge of a pre-emptive strike against its nuclear facilities... the retaliatory artillery barrage on Seoul would have killed tens of thousands of people immediately.

Clinton's fault! Carter's fault!
Sorry, I'm just simulating the Republican response.

Your party gave away the Panama canal. Good job.

A small price to pay for a non-Republican President.

Small Price? Do you realize what would happen if the US was cut off from the Panama Canal?

Shipping tons are up about 20% since Panama took control.

And? If the Chinese has bought to Canal like they tried to do already and something militarily ever occured they could easily cut us off, which would put us in very bad trouble if we needed the navy, to you know, defend the west coast.

Yeah, San Diego will be undefended without the east coast.

Anyways, I don't think the largest naval ships can fit through the Panama.

I agree that signing away the Panama Canal was a big mistake.

Well-intentioned, but unfortunate president. The best thing he did was pardon the draft dodgers. Good ex-president, though.

Tough choice. I really don't like his presidential term, and think he really screwed it up. But, I believe that no matter what he tried, he always had the best intentions. And when things really went south, he never lied about anything. Can't really make up my mind.

As a person, excellent.

As a President, not enough experience and too much micromanagement which led to several key failures, but overall did as well as could be expected given circumstances. He did more good than he gets credit for.

A horrible President, dead wrong on Israel/Palestine, but his other charity work earns him a FF.

I hope people realize that the Soviet Union would have fallen five years earlier under Carter. (Waits for inevitable response)

I don't necessarily believe it would have happened faster under Carter, but are you one of those people that believes "Reagan won the Cold War"?

Pop Quiz: Who stopped the Grain Embargo that was literally starving the Soviets to death to win a few extra farm votes?

That's a fair description, yes.
