All those points would have been sensible & not ridiculous if Sanders was not the 2nd choice among both Biden & Warren supporters. In a 2 way race with Buttigieg, he is likely getting over 60% & over 50-55% vs Warren. The only person who is beating him 1 on 1 is Biden who is polling poorly in early states & has a soft support & Sanders is the 2nd choice of his voters as per Morning Consult polls.

Among Black & Hispanic voters, Pete is 4th choice behind Biden, Bernie & Warren which closes any path that he has.

Finally!  Some decent analysis and content from the Old Website.  Solid stuff, Shadows.

Bernie has just gotten to second place on the RCP and he performed well enough at the last debate.

That's based entirely on the Emerson poll, though. We've been in a bit of a polling drought, and probably that'll last through next week? It'll be interesting to see if Emerson's numbers are reflected elsewhere when we start getting lots of polls again.

I get that this post is pretty dated but Sanders is indeed ahead of Warren in almost every major poll now.

That said, Emerson continues to produce stronger numbers for Sanders than other polls.

Let's see what the average looks like now that the Emerson poll has fallen off.

Oh, Bernie Sanders is exactly back where he was before his "surge" that was solely contained in one poll.

He is back in second, but that's due to Warren's decline, not due to any increase in his support.

That is like a 12-15% fall for Warren from her all time high polling. It is like a complete crash. Total downward spiral. She really needs an incredible performance in the debate to hang on & turn around.

Unlike others I am not that worried about Pete beyond NH since Pete is 4th choice among both black & Hispanic voters & has a controversial problematic record with no experience. He also is disliked intensely by Sanders' young supporters & by probably some of Yang & Warren's young voters too. There is only so much he can do by getting more older white conservative boomer voters.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders met Monday with baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred to discuss MLB’s proposal to that would drop 42 minor league teams from their leagues after the 2020 season.

MLB is negotiating a new agreement with the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues, the governing body of the minors. The initial proposal primarily would impact lower-level teams in short-season leagues.

Sanders, a senator from Vermont, sent Manfred a letter on Nov. 25 calling the plan “an absolute disaster for baseball fans, workers and communities throughout the country.”

Good move by Bernie, will help him with the Field of Dreams vote in Iowa.

Would be irrelevant. Unfortunately Bernie doesn't base all his actions based on coming elections like Pete or someone like that. This is a stray trivial issue but one that Bernie is concerned about.

Not sure if this is supposed to be directed at me specifically but all I said was that Sanders is ahead of Warren now which he clearly is whether you include the Emerson poll in the average or not.

Not great news for Senator Warren!

He's the same guy who was outed in NH.  Perhaps a problem with the person and not the surging campaign?  But as always your analysis isn't actually analysis and generally could easily be uttered by a 5 year old.  Is CNN hiring?

If he was fired in NH, why did the campaign hire him again?

That's usually called being reassigned.

Yeah, for all the sound and fury around him Sanders's support has been extremely stable since the beginning. He seems to have a rather high floor but also he is unable to break his ceiling and expand his coalition. Which is why, barring extraordinary circumstances, he won't even get a sniff of the nomination.

Lol @ all everyone talking about how Sanders is in second, but failing to acknowledge he's actually slipping and falling in the average and the only reason he's in second is because of Warren's even greater fall. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but showing up at a couple of HBCUs won't make him the 46th president. Honestly speaking, Pete Buttigeg is much more likely to reassemble the lilly-white Sanders 2016 coalition as of now (and theoretically win with it) than Sanders is, especially with Warren falling because of his recent surge.

1.  Buttigieg is still behind Sanders in national polls
2.  Sanders support has been the most stable of any 2020 Dem

Iowa's largest progressive group endorses Bernie Sanders

With only about two months left before Iowa's first-in-the-nation 2020 caucuses, the political arm of the state's largest grassroots progressive group endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination on Monday. "From standing with us on strike lines with fast food workers to touring rural Iowa plagued by factory farms, Bernie has helped build the political revolution we've been building for decades. And we could not be more excited to have him build it with us in Iowa in 2020," said the Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement (CCI) Action Fund.

On the heels of the action fund's announcement Monday, Iowa Student Action announced on Twitter that it was following the group's footsteps and supporting Sanders' second run for the White House:

Sanders is not "slipping and falling" and he has more staying power than Buttigieg.

Any talk of Sanders "surging" or "collapsing" is silly.  He's been stuck between 15-20% ever since Biden announced, and any variation is just noise.

Biden is a wobbly frontrunner,  anyways, the only states he has seen up is SC. Hilary won 75% of the vote in SC and Biden is stuck at 30.

Although, he is the Establishment candidate,  after decimating Harris campaign,  I wouldn't mind if the AA political establishment like Carol Mosley-Braun eat crow, should Bernie or Warren lose

Warren is still my choice right now, but Bernie is second now. I want to stop Biden and the billionaires any way I can. If it's any of them, I have no doubt Trump will win reelection.

Absolutely unacceptable. There's no way I can vote for Bernie Sanders after seeing that one of his low-level staffers said something rude about... Jefferson Junior High... in 2010
