Loeffler Got Lucrative Parting Gift From Public Company en Route to the Senate.

Quote
The parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, which her husband runs, changed compensation terms to give Kelly Loeffler, a top executive, awards worth millions of dollars as she left for Congress.

Lmao this lady is ridiculous and the hits just keep coming.

Now I'm certain it won't be a lockout.

I highly doubt this will be a lockout. Loeffler is gonna get like 10% of the vote.

Agreed. Even before this Loeffler didn't really have much of a base. There wasn't much of a reason for GOP voters to pick her over Collins aside from incumbency and being a woman (which we all now GOP voters don't care about). Right now she's going to get single digits, assuming she doesn't drop out before.

Prior to the scandal, her Bloombucks (a net worth of $500m+) would have counted for something given how much funding is required to bombard the airwaves in a state the size of Georgia.

That's too early to say at the moment. The jungle primary will be held on election day. There's plenty of time for Warnock to build up his recognition.

aware I'm close to sh**tposting but how on earth is this a good way to elect a Senator? For some reason I thought the jungle primary was in the summer... it just seems like such a weird & unnceessary way to do an election in a two-party system.

I guess it must be a relic from the era of Solid South when all southern states were one-party states.

Yeah, Lieberman will be the nominee

There will be a cruel irony to him losing the runoff in the seat that decides the Senate majority, thereby causing Biden's subsequent failure to pass a public option.

Considering that the article goes into detail about how top Republicans basically told her to drop out, I'd say that headline is almost absurdly kind to her.

If she drops out the Democrats need to force everyone out and endorse Warnock.

If anything, the Democrats should be more incentivized to do that now rather than in the event that she drops out, because if she drops out, at least the Democrats are guaranteed a run-off spot (be it Lieberman or Warnock).

Loeffler dropping out would be the smart thing for the GOP but idk if she, Kemp, or McConnell want to admit they were wrong

The only thing I want is another Democrat in the Senate. If Lieberman proves himself to be a better candidate than Warnock, then so be it.

She’s tied the noose around her own neck at this point but I genuinely don’t know if it’s better for her to drop out which would signal that she did something wrong or just run and lose while they just quietly back away from her. This has to be one of the worst appointments of all time. Just goes to show that Kemp isn’t fit to be in charge of a house plant, let alone a state of ten million people. I have no idea what he was thinking when he appointed her (self funding isn’t the end all, be all).

The race between Collins & Loeffler is getting quite nasty; in a show of hilarity they're both attacking each other on their fake websites for supporting Mitt Romney...
