Lol, no, not even close.

About 2% of Americans know who he is.  Nobody peaks in 2005.

He'll be there come 2007.

Considering only Hacks like us are even paying attention at the moment, even most of the commentators are still stuck in the mindset of “let’s recite the names Giuliani and Clinton as often as possible”, no I don’t think he has.

In the end I think that both parties will opt for outsiders or mavericks, and that’s probably folks like Sanford, McCain or Huckabee for the GOP and Warner and Feingold for the Dems… I don’t accepted that Clinton, Biden, et-al have a realistic shot, and much as I would like him to be nominated I think Bayh will find it tough, though he’s got a better chance than say Lieberman back in 04 and probably a much better shot than any of Biden, Edwards and Kerry.

He hasnt peeked yet, but some of his push was used a bit early, however it should leave a lasting effect.

Haha, not at all.

His national name recognition is still very low. He is just starting out.

I have heard some people say that he has but I posted this poll to prove otherwise. I think this sudden media "peek" is just about getting his name out there in local Democratic circles (ie his visit to NH this week). I expect him to continue to travel the country and talk and meet with Democrats about the future of the nation. I know that he is going to be down in FL soon at the Florida Democratic State Conference with Sen. Obama, Governor Vilsack, Chairman Dean, John Edwards. Look for that one to be on TV as well.

That is a good lineup right there.

A this point, a politician could peak, then collapse, then peak again before the primary season even gets close to starting, so it doesn't really matter.

Kerry peaked, collapsed, and then while collapsed won the nomination hands down.

Huh? About how many people outside Virginia know who Mark Warner is? Maybe as many as read the Time article and remember it. To say someone has peaked when the campaign isn't even close to starting is kinda stupid MAS.

The only people I feel have peaked too early are those Democrats (e.g. Hillary) and Republicans (e.g. Giuliani), who are reading high because of recognition

Somebody could emerge, who hasn't even been mentioned yet even by the most astute political chatterers

Nobody has peeked, or glanced, or looked, or even peered....

j/k.... Warner has only solidified the probability that possibly some money from some astute bloggers and insiders is earmarked "Warner 2008" for the time being... until he says or does something really minor to make them all crap themselves with " I can't believe he said/did that!  I can't vote for him now, he know's my position on Lebanese Cheese Imports!"

No.  This is typical for the election cycle.  What Warner needs to do is ensure he doesn't say/do something stupid between now and 2007 before the real campaigning begins, otherwise he can kiss his WH shot goodbye.
