Yes.  My mom supported him in 2008 based on religious identity politics (both she and Biden are Catholic).  After he dropped out, my mom liked both Hillary and Obama, so she ended up not voting in the primary that year.

She is not supporting Biden this time around.  Smile

No, most people I knew backed Hillary but those who I know backed another candidate backed either McCain or Obama.

I might have had some family that supported Huckabee or Giuliani, but that would have been as far as it went. At anyrate absolutely no one who backed Biden.

I think your mom might have been the only Biden supporter.
At least Biden had a supporter in ‘08. Poor Chris Dodd Sad

My late grandma, though a fiercely conservative Thompson supporter in ‘08, did tell me when I was eleven or twelve that she liked Biden and preferred him to Obama/Clinton/Edwards.

Who is Chris Dodd

Chris Dodd's office helped my mom with a financial crisis involving her student loans, when the president of the college she went to swindled all the students' tuition money and left the country.

And Dodd's a Catholic, too.  It's actually a wonder why she supported Biden over him.

Me and my family planned on meeting him on our DC vacation in 2007, but he was out campaigning at the time.  None of us wanted to see Lieberman.

Actually yes. I was in high school during the 2008 primaries and I had a friend who supported Biden, and then Clinton when Biden dropped out. He didn't come around to liking Obama until he chose Biden as his running mate.
