Why are people angry? This is what the guy is. This is what he always was. This is why people are voting for him. Beat him, don't expect him to change his mind.

Who cares? No one's winning FL anyway, even NELSON lost. and the suburban Romney-Clinton voters are educated enough to know that having a democratic socialist is preferable to a nationalist loon like Trump

This indeed doesn't matter because no Democrat is winning Florida, especially not Sanders. But to act like Shalala is such a horrible person for wanting to secure her re-election makes me worry that Sanders, should he become the nominee, could end up being a drag on downballot candidates. I don't see him and his potentially weak coattails gaining a much needed Democratic Senate majority.

If Shalala can't win an Obama/Clinton/Nelson/Gillum seat, that's entirely her fault.

He isn't winning the primary anyway, so arguing about his liabilities is truly a moot point.

Maybe so, but...and I just can't resist mentioning it at this point, this is Florida we are talking about here.

It also voted for Patrick Murphy in 2016 against Rubio.

Nice try by the bros to derail the thread by focusing on Shalala's electability instead of what she actually said.

Bernie standing up to US imperialism and oil industry. Fantastic.

Juan Guaido would never allow any concessions to the oil industry to go through. He has integrity.

Is this the same state party that had, for the first time in decades, a chance at winning the governor's mansion there, and then promptly lost it?

You must be thinking of some other state party. The Florida Democratic are masters of losing, having narrowly lost the last 3 governor races, as well as 2018 Senate, 2016 President, and 2000 President.

So how do they speak with any authority on saying who can win Florida?

If the Democrats hold the House anyway then I don't care if Shalala loses. She's a truly disgusting and vile person, just as awful as Trump. I'd be perfectly fine with a Democratic House not tainted by that f[inks]ing monster in the caucus especially as we'd win the seat back with someone possibly decent right away anyway.

Venezuela won't go away, it can be one of the major themes of the campaign.

If I recall most on Atlas kept saying Shalala was "blowing it" (another stupid term that needs to be retired) and would lose the seat. It didn't happen. But that aside, this is a real issue in South Florida and it's not unreasonable for Democrats there to want to get in front of it.

It must shock many people on here that you can both oppose dictators, and oppose regime change.
