Yes. Come 2021 we should withdraw from our embassy there, expel Brazil's diplomatic staff and pass sanctions on Bolsonaro and anyone in his government.

Possibly, Brazil and the US economy aren’t really intertwined to recieve as much of a blowback as severing relations with China would be now. A more safe way to go about it is restrictions on imports of Brazilian commodity products originating from the Amazon rainforest.

No, even if their current president isn't very good, all that would do is severely strain relations with a country that doesn't currently seem to hate us or anything.

Yes. We should absolutely end diplomatic relations with the second-strongest nation in the hemisphere because they're finally turning things around. I'm surprised you haven't been tapped for Secretary of State.

You probably would put sanctions on India , Israel or any other nation where you don't like their elected leader.

The answer is obviously no , even though Bolosnoaro is an obvious HP

Lol, it's so funny how you can tell who started a topic by the cut off title you can see from the home page.  BRTD is almost as predictable as the former-moderate-turned-Democratic-hack poster with the O-CA avatar who is always asking of people's opinions of Absolute No Name (D-CA) in Individual Politics.

Using this logic, the US shouldn't have had diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union from 1933-1991.

And it would probably be because of that leader's taste on specific rock subgenres or animated sitcoms

Its impossible for us to do it, due to importance of coffee and oil exports from Central and South America, including Mexico and Caribbean

The hilarious part of this is that BRTD views himself as a progressive internationalist, but the consequences of this policy would take us back to pre-modern times, during which leaders of geographical entities would sever relations and wage war with other proto-states whenever it was convenient to them.

Cause I think it’s relevant, I’m going to quote myself and BRTD from another thread;

What exactly are you going to sanction them for? The results of their democratic elections? Are we going to continue those sanctions until new elections are held and you’re satisfied with the results? Should the European Union and Canada have sanctioned us for electing Donald Trump? Will all countries with ideologically opposed governments now begin to sanction each other each time democratic elections don’t go the way they want? Madness.
