It's ironic that what began as a blackface scandal will end in the resignation of the state's black Lieutenant Governor, while the white Governor and Attorney General get off. The optics of this definitely are not good for the Democrats.

Eh, wont matter at all. Sexual Assault is a rather serious crime, and everyone will have forgotten about this most likely in a months time.

What I mean to say is that what began as a racial scandal will end up in the removal of the state's only black statewide official, while its two main white statewide officials will get off.

This was a thing in the culture at that time, even tv shows had plots about slave auction fundraisers and who gets to buy whom.  Obviously insensitive in hindsight to the hurt caused by slavery in our nation's history, but the people participating in these things just didn't think of it in those terms or as anything to do with blacks or racial issues.

Kavanaugh accusations weren’t corroborated , and neither were Fairfax's until now. Fairfax's meet the criteria of preponderance of evidence now

I still feel like we should get a serious investigation. We know once Fairfax resigns that won't happen, these women should give their testimonies under oath and provide any evidence that they have. I just have a feeling we won't hear from either two the moment Fairfax is gone, but with what they are accusing they should be pursuing criminal charges.
