Yes, of course, they're Massive FFs

Dr. Tyson is a Democrat, so it looks unlikely to me this is a political or partisan stunt.

Fred Phelps was too.

A local politician who covered up a vehicular assault case was too.

Meh. Th e only real reference to him in the frat yearbook page is about touch football. I dont think theres any evidence he organized the fundraiser so it seems unnecessarily strict to call on him to resign.

Just being part of the same fraternity shouldn't be a huge issue (unless he did in fact participate in that), but regarding the other stuff, if he worked on the yearbook and approved those photos or saw them and didn't object, that is definitely reasonable to hold against him imo.

Which sources? Kasie Hunt and NBC are credible sources, I'd say. But even if he didn't, I believe Dr. Tyson.

I believe Fairfax, because a far-right website that spreads QAnon conspiracy theories isn't where you go if you have a story.

She went to the Washington Post, who didn't publish it. The website only got the story because someone else sent them a facebook post she had written about it.

Maybe the Washington Post has journalistic standards. Big League Politics doesn't.

Referring to the quote, 3 other sources, including his Chief of staff(not a very good source, IMO) came out and said that just "F***" was said.

Anyway, I have no idea who to believe. Im hoping the two sides can just start the legal case already so we can finally get some facts and answers.

NYT: Fairfax's standing is deteriorating with the delegation, with the women angry at how he's handled the allegation, particularly his private words, but Scott/McEachin complained that the women were holding him to an unfair standard due to the "angry black man" stereotype.

I'm disappointed (but sadly not surprised) that the media has ignored Tommy Torment being the editor of a racist yearbook.

FFS

No, f**king rapists aren't held to an "unfair standard" in this country. Even when they're black.

NYT: Tyson told 5 people in the past 2 years she'd been sexually assaulted at the DNC and identified Fairfax as her assailant. She did not tell anyone in 2004 or notify the police, according to her legal team. Some of those people were interviewed on record by the paper.

So Northam stays, even as a pariah, but Fairfax probably won't survive another allegation.

Yeah, it's obvious Fairfax should resign.

Imagine if Northam had resigned immediately. Fairfax may have been the shortest serving Governor in modern history.

I have to imagine if he refuses to step down he'll be impeached.

It's probably a good thing in retrospect that Governor Northam did not resign.  Tongue

At least he should wait until Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax steps down.

One thing I wonder is the economic impact of all of this. IIRC conventions pulled out of I want to say Kansas over anti LGBT policies. If Northam stays will we see a concerted effort by the NAACP or some group to pressure groups to not hold events in Virginia?

At this point, I believe a special election for a new Governor and Lt Governor would be an optimal solution.

Would those groups want to pick that scab? Granted, they could always opt not to explain why there are fewer events in Virginia.
