I'm not sure this will help Tillis enough. He's seen as a sleazeball establishment guy with a -22 favorable.
Tillis is the ultimate empty suit.

WTF is he doing. Doesn't he know that's an implicit admission that the scandal is a big deal? The worst thing you can do during a scandal is show weakness. He should be following the example set by Republicans and pretend nothing happened until it blows over.

I still think that this race will be close, but it's very annoying that Cunningham's stupid mistake may cost the Democrats the chance to take back the Senate in what may be a D+10 environment—just more proof of how stupid the Senate actually is. Hopefully Biden/Cooper can drag Cunningham across the finish line and thankfully, it looks like Iowa or Georgia may end up coming through so we may not need NC in the end. But this whole situation makes me a bit more uncertain than I was just a few days ago.

This race just went from likely D to lean R, and anyone saying otherwise is kidding themselves.

Are you being sarcastic. If not, you and I have a lot to discuss.

Alot of D ballots were already cast before the revelation, if it's a tight race, the Early vote would have counted and put Cunningham over the top, it started on 9/6

Cal looks bad of course

But I don’t know if he’s going to be perceived as the villain here

This is actually a good point, and could matter in a very close senate race, but most people who plan on voting haven't voted yet. Maybe this only has 80% of the impact it would've had otherwise since so many people have already voted.

More from Patrick Howley, who broke this story: Todd has nudes, Cunningham and Todd were intimate for a week in his home and there are more texts inbound that he'll publish in the coming days.

Time to go nuclear, Thom.

Senator Bob Hugin sends his regards.

Slight difference: Cal Cunningham can’t win with Democrats/liberals alone.

Something is happening in the polls if Ben Selango and Feltes are now competetive in WVA and NH Govs, they were supposed to lose by 20, it's a blue wave and Biden is up 14, not a neutral cycle.  Biden can be in touch with WVA voters. They said watch WVA and NH Govs even before the wave

Are you being sarcastic. If not, you and I have a lot to discuss.

Discuss it with me because he’s right.

The texts were one thing but going totally silent and backing out of town halls gives off a horrible look. I’d be my last penny Tillis wins this race

Literally no one will change their votes over this. What Cunningham did wasn’t even that bad, this race was and remains Tilt D.

It’s constant front page news in the North Carolina.

It’ll change 5-6% of Cunningham votes which is enough frankly

Tillis soliciting nude pictures of his opponent (that is my assessment of what is going on here) is far worse than what Cunningham did. If Tillis had Cunnigham's phone hacked he's not just losing his seat he is going to jail. That is a crime.

“You see, I was going to vote for Cunningham because I don’t want to lose my healthcare,  but now that I’ve discovered that he had a affair with another woman (a personal issue that doesn’t affect me whatsoever) I have no choice but to vote for Tillis, someone who I disagree with on literary everything. My ideology or beliefs don’t really mean anything, this scandal is the only thing that I care about now”

- Cunningham voters, according to you.

I would say closer to 4% max, and even if it was 6%, Cunningham lead Tillis in polling by 6% up until yesterday, so by no means would this race be over for Democrats even if Cunningham does 5 or 6% worse, especially considering this final month seems to be going downhill for the GOP overall thus far.

Cunningham needs to break his radio silence. That’s a bad look. Learn something from the GOP.

Who listens to radio anymore. He should make a music video. After all, the video killed the radio star. It might help him seem more likeable, especially to younger folks, after all this.

If Cunningham is silent, it could mean there is more to drop here and worse than what we have already seen.

This does worry me. He hasn't so much as tweeted in four days.

Whoever is posting this information seems to have hacked Cunningham's phone, so it wouldn't be surprising if Tillis hired someone to do this. He is a Republican after all. This is just my speculation and I have a feeling that this is going to backfire if hacking really was involved.

Heath Shuler would be a good alternative choice if Cal drops out.
