Harris never struck me as the vindictive type and honestly what purpose would unfollowing Biden on social media serve?  I wouldn't read much into this.

Not constitutionally eligible.

Not necessarily. The constitutionality is up for debate. We had a thread about this: https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=342226.msg7031969#msg7031969

Either way I was joking

He wouldn’t be eligible.

The constitution states: “But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States“.

Yup.  Pretty clear.  There may be a debate about this...but one side of that debate is just plain wrong.

Eligibility for the office & eligibility for election to the office are 2 different things, given that one can succeed to the office without being elected to it.

Did nobody teach you about how textualism works? Tongue

Yeah, I don't get the distinction.  Are you saying he can run but can't serve?

No, the opposite.

How would that work, then?  He can't be elected but can be appointed if the office is vacated?  That would  mostly seem to be a distinction without a difference, for all intents and purposes, the majority of the time anyway.

What if the VP is someone who was never talked about as a possibility at all?

Vice President Nancy Pelosi

The opposite: he can serve, but not run.

He very obviously can't run for President again, that was made very clear by the 22nd. But he could arguably run for VP (& could also arguably be appointed VP under the 25th Amendment); in either instance, though, he could arguably succeed to the Presidency if it were to become vacant & thus serve out the remainder of that given term.

In any event, though, none of this is happening without a SCOTUS ruling on the subject, & that's never happening because a former 2-term President is never being picked to be VP.

No, but flying an Illinois-based candidate out of South Bend instead of a Chicago-area airport to avoid giving it away would be on-brand for this kind of thing. Hint hint.

Until the Supreme Court (hypothetically) rules on it, it's a major distinction - constitutionally speaking - because one can obviously succeed to the Presidency without needing to get elected to it.

Personally, I hope he doesn't chose Kamala. He needs to chose someone new and exciting who still has experience.

Former Senator Barbara Mikulski would bring a certain freshness to the ticket and bring and address Biden's biggest weakness: his lack of experience.

I also doubt she personally handles her own accounts. This seems coordinated

Bingo.

Don't be surprised if she has a new profile pic, banner, and bio in the next 24 hours.

Way over. I think whether it passes 400 is a more compelling question.
