I feel bad for the suffering she had to go through, also good for her to come out about this. Women in power like her, should be telling the younger generations that violence against women is unacceptable.

Huh, today is Kate’s election, and we are now hearing news about Gallego running for senate. Looks like my rumor had some truth to it Wink

If Gallego gets in, he better be sure he can win. Don’t want him losing his House seat in a primary election.

If you're the AZ Dems, who do you want to go up against McSally, who will be favored ?

A.) Kelly

B.) Gallego

I like how we managed to get two A-list Democrats running in Arizona but we can't find even a B-lister in CO, NC, MT, IA, ME

It’s not even April of the year before the election though. Rick Scott didn’t even announce his run till April the year of the election.

The Speaker of the House and (at least) two gubernatorial candidates are publicly considering runs.

This doesn't even include Susan Rice.

Did Warren ever get back to you?
Nope. I'll send her a reminder tomorrow (err...today, just not at 12:30 AM).

(for the record Andrew is referring to Charlotte Warren, a major backer of the Sweet gubernatorial campaign and staunchly on the left of the Maine Dems House Caucus, as you can see by briefly glancing at the issues she highlights on her Twitter account https://twitter.com/charlottewarren.)

I wouldnt worry about that yet, its extremely early in the 2020 cycle. As another poster mentioned, Rick Scott didnt announce until April of 2018, and Sinema/McSally didnt until Late 2017. In effect, we have been kinda spoiled by early announcements by 2020 presidential candidates. Candidates should be cropping up as we get into the mid to late 2019.

Mark Kelly needs to win the primary, and Gallego needs to drop out soon after announcing. I don't want 17 months of a bruising primary that will only help McSally.

I get the feeling that the AZ primary is starting do early because there is a understanding that a "shadow primary" is better than the actual one. The date being so late means that if there is a unresolved primary at the time of polling weakens the party overall. But if there is enough time for a shadow primary that ends with one candidate dropping out (who can raise more money, activate more voters, generate more enthusiasm, poll higher) then the party is in a better position to win.

Kelly announced a ton of endorsements yesterday.

I assume you are referring to 2018 gubernatorial candidates?

I'm going to be bold and call this Lean D. McSally will almost certainly underperform Trump, and Trump stands a good chance of losing AZ.
