EMILY's Li$t follows the money, chooses the more corporate woman again.

I cannot wait until this blight on the progressive movement is dismantled.

My favorite part is how they're picking and choosing in this primary between two women, but haven't endorsed Maggie Toulouse Oliver in NM over noted grifter, establishment candidate, and male Ben Ray Lujan.

Just call these scumbags a front group for the establishment already.
Dude you really have a hate boner over Emily's list.  Guess someone doesn't like that their fav women don't get picked and have to dunk on a womens organization to feel better.

Also strange you want to call the hispanic man a grifter when the white woman you support does the same things he does.  Hmm I wonder why bro.

I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of an ostensibly "pro-women's organization" deciding to pick and choose which woman is the most qualified, but not supporting a pro-choice Democratic woman who's actually running against a man. Considering this and their non-endorsement of Kara Eastman in NE-2, I think I've justified my issues with them.

I'm also fairly sure Maggie Toulouse Oliver didn't throw Ilhan Omar under the bus, and she certainly didn't come out in "support" of her hours after ripping her on national TV like Lujan did.

Fake allies like you are the reason why racism and sexism aren't taken seriously. You don't care about stopping racism and sexism in politics. You are the white male savior personified: your accusations are to protect politicians you agree with. You've taken up the mantle of fighting for women, even if some of the women on Greater Atlas agree with me. Your "crusade" is self-serving, paternalistic, and in bad faith.

Then again, considering all that, it's no wonder why you support these bull**** artists.

Ask Lucy Flores, Jess King, or AOC if I'm wrong.

But of course, why rebut a post made with clear, strong examples you don't agree with when you can post it in the Deluge instead?

(also shoutout to backing a guy calling me a virulent racist/misogynist, I thought we were friends enough to where you wouldn't do that but apparently not)

- 1) I’m not backing Jerry (I think both of you were being aggressively OTT and seemed to be looking for a fight), I put this post here because I thought your attacks on Lujan were - to be blunt - pretty ridiculous and especially because of your post’s Omar apologism.  Not only is the woman a fire-breathing anti-Semite who has trivialized 9/11.  It’s been disgusting to see folks on the far left defend any horrible thing Omar says and because she ticks demographic check boxes.

I’m not saying that’s why you’re defending her, but regardless of the reason, it’s very disappointing because I do consider you a friend and it’s hurtful to see a friend defending someone like Omar.  Not gonna lie, it’s a little scary to see how anti-Semitism is going mainstream with both party’s bases, but I guess that’s what my passport is for.  It’s like learning that you have a malignant brain tumor and people who are supposed to be your friends say that instead of getting it removed before it kills you, you should stop being mean to the stupid thing b/c it’s just misunderstood.  I mean, tell me how many anti-Semitic things Talib and Omar should say before you guys stop chalking it up to “poor choice of words” and stop making excuses for their vitriol Huh  Seriously, I’ll keep count.  Just give me a number.

- 2) I posted it to the deluge b/c I’ve had this discussion with you before about Lujan, Omar, etc and I know neither us is going to change the other’s mind so why waste time?  All that’ll happen is I’ll needlessly get myself all riled up and life’s too short to have it out every time someone is wrong on the internet.  Plus, why would I want to get in the middle of Jerry and your screaming match?  I mean, really?

- 3) The irony of this is I don’t like Emily’s List either, they are an establishment PAC, but I don’t care enough to have a fight over it.  You gotta choose your battles.  I do think Jerry’s right about you getting way too upset about them though.

- 4) If you’re assuming I approve of everything someone says just b/c I agreed with *part* of their post, never mind that I thought his implications about you at the end were completely uncalled for, should I assume you agree with everything Omar says?  You see the problem with this logic, no?

1) The problem is the question on whether Ilhan Omar was right or not is a red herring. We can debate and derail this thread until we're blue in the face and none of our points will change. That doesn't change the fact that Lujan jumped on the #IStandWithIlhan wagon because of pressure from the rest of the leadership, and his personal gut instinct was to condemn her remarks.

2) Even acknowledging that, Lujan being a grifter is ultimately irrelevant. I could have just said "They aren't backing Toulouse Oliver against Lujan but they're backing Gideon against an equally qualified Democratic woman" and gotten the same point across. His stances towards Ilhan Omar's comments are ultimately a distraction from his gender.

3) If someone's going to call me a racist or sexist in bad faith, I'm going to come at them with the same energy they came at me with. If I or one of the other leftists responded to your beliefs wrt Omar the same way Jerry did, I'd expect you to do the same.

4) Thank you. That's all I needed to hear.

Massive human rights violation. If a poor African country with an anti-imperialist foreign policy violated free speech in a similar wat they would be bombed by NATO in the name of human rights. Whether you agree with them or not, Holocaust deniers are human beings and they should not only not be jailed, they should be protected from job discrimination and hate crimes against them should be severely punished.

I don’t want people getting marijuana, period.  It won’t kill you, but it is addictive and has been associated with numerous health problems, especially in folks who start using when they’re 25 or younger.  However, I do think that writing $250 - $500 per-incident citations is a better way to handle users than just tossing them in jail.  Ultimately, the legalization of recreational marijuana use is only really being talked about b/c a bunch of white dudebros decided they wanted a legal way to get high on demand which caused a bunch of [rich, white, male) venture capitalists to start seeing dollar signs.

They'll still win. Shawn Moody won this district man. Golden is making a huge mistake by running for re-election I'm telling you. I mean if there's a big dem wave I could see him squeaking by(maybe winning via RCV again) but even then it's going to be hard. He could certainly outrun the Presidential nominee but only by so much.

Sugar counteracts cement. Putting cement in a milkshake would be meaningless.

I think you're misreading that comment. Sugar keeps cement from setting, not from causing burns, and the comment was about burns. The Portland Police also said that they put out the warning about cement milkshakes because the smell coming from one of the "milkshakes," they didn't say that it had hardened into a brick or something. Not that Ngo was hit with something like that anyway, his injuries were mainly from punches.

The same places that trended left for Obama tended to (with exceptions) trend left for Hillary, especially educated, affluent, culturally progressive urban/suburban areas.  These places are trending Democratic, period.  I remember people predicting that the white lady would lose Colorado and Virginia, win Missouri and West Virginia, because she was a certain fit for these areas, whatever.  It turned out that the Obama-era trends didn't go away.

Swalwell probably isn't very inspiring. He's not likely to win the nomination. But if he did somehow, This is what I think the map would look like.

A privileged group of scumbags who have done everything to crumble the rights of women of color to gain statue among the left. Every dirt-bag leftist doesn't care to improve the conditions of people of color communities, nor the disadvantages that women have in America. Yet these ugly Brooklyn dip shots are every bit as reactionary as the liberals they love to disparage on Twitter. I bet on money the brocialists at the DSA would love to hang a black dissenter if they had the political power to go that far in their hatred.

1. It's an internal poll...
2. Conducted the year before the election...
3. Before McGrath declared...
4. By Change Research...
5. Of a race in Kentucky, but...

... yeah, no buts. I've got a literal bag of road salt.

The internal poll isn't a road of salt, due to the competetiveness of the 2019-KY GOV, McConnell and Bevin are tied to one another. If one goes down in Fall, 2019, McConnell will be defeated in 2020

This is the most Mitch McConnell-esque exanmple of DARVO I've seen from a Democrat. It's pretty clear that Pelosi fired the first shot (after AOC helped secure the left's votes for her). The disgusting part of this is when Pelosi decided to march The Squad out for their Rolling Stone photoshoot, while dismissing them as "four people" on multiple occasions with the other. She doesn't see AOC or Omar or Pressley or Tlaib as useful members of the caucus, she sees them as props to virtue signal about how diverse her caucus is and how women of color are starting to take leadership roles. And now she wants to talk about "unity" after attacking them? Get that BS outta here.

Let's go down the list of the establishments' attempts at "unity" with the left:

* Tom Perez, 2017. After his fight with Ellison for DNC chair, he decided to purge Ellison's supporters (including my state party's chair - one of the most competent state parties in the nation) from leadership posts and replace them with his loyalists. These included lobbyists for Big Oil, long-time establishment members, and Fox News lobbyists.

* Hillary Clinton, 2017. Her supporters are still blaming Bernie in the Year of Our Lord, 2019 for daring to run against her, the most Experienced Nominee since Eisenhower, and have been a part of that vicious smear campaign for years. She could have ended it all and joined the call for unity in her book. She officially endorsed the smear campaign on multiple occasions, because how dare Bernie run against The Anointed One, a long-term politician who was destined by her experience to become the nominee.

* The Entire Damn DCCC, 2018. The Democrats' Anointed One in NE-2, Brad Ashford, lost the primary to Kara Eastman, noted Bernie candidate, liberal, and breath of fresh air. Never mind that Ashford had already lost to Bacon and was an ex-Republican. The Anointed One lost, so they cut their losses, moved it to triage, and moved on, abandoning a pickup opportunity. And we haven't gotten into my favorite "women's interest group" failing to endorse Eastman until the general, or the deafening silence from the same anti-Bernie crowd who crucified Heath Mello for having the same beliefs on abortion as Ashford did. I guarantee you that if Welder won the KS-3 primary, he'd be another example of this.

* Kim Jong Bustos, 2018. You're still seeing the DCCC play Politburo today, expelling all consultants from the party who defy their will in the name of protecting those poor conservative zealots in liberal districts.

If you look at the situation from an unbiased view, those who are calling the loudest for "party unity" are waging a war against people like AOC and Scott and me, and they expect us to be good little ducklings and follow along because their Enlightened Experience gives them the God-given right to rule.

The establishment doesn't give a flying f*** about unity. They don't care about resistance. Their first concern isn't even stopping Trump and the various abuses of power he's committed (and will continue to commit). The primary goal of the Democratic Party is making the left submit to their will. They know they're not serving the voters. They know we're the real threat to their power. And they'll do everything they can to cling to that power - even if it means extending our long national nightmare by four more years.

I wish. Unfortunately no person nowadays can bring family values to the table without being screamed at and labeled a homophobic fascist bigot by the left wing mob.

Both those things are objectively true about most people who shout ‘family values’; in addition to a very narrow definition of who is and isn’t a family.

Man and woman isn't narrow.

Wonderful to see the CBC has joined in on the gaslighting. Alongside a lot of the stuff we've discussed to death, we've seen William Lacy Clay literally compare the Justice Democrats to Russia (absolutely ridiculous!).

We've also seen Gregory Meeks claim that the CBC endorsed noted white men like Mike Capuano to "protect the majority". You know, because Ayanna Pressley had such a tough race to win the general against... literally nobody.

Also curious how there was no major push from certain CBC members to endorse Donna Edwards over the establishment's pick of Chris Van Hollen. Jesus tapdancing Christ, even EMILY's List gave their all for her and showed some damn backbone.

I can't speak to whether or not Pelosi's a racist, but we can certainly identify that "anonymous Democratic" staffer who compared AOC to a Goomba is a sexist.

Mostt damningly of all, Pelosi's "do not tweet" order apparently only applies to The Squad and their allies, and not... the official account of the caucus.

Truly Orwellian stuff we have going on here, folks. Appeasement is strength. Submission is unity. Misogyny is civility. The right-winger who vowed to block Hillary Clinton's nominees into her presidency is a #Resistance hero, and so is the biggest attention whore in the history of the Senate (who backed up his talk with absolutely no action). Meanwhile, the left-winger who dared to give her a primary challenge contributed to the rise of Trump. They say Trump is the enemy, but if you look into their actions, you'll see who their real enemies are.

Let it be known that I didn't leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me.

John James would be Obama 2004 redux. Could help shore up some blacks to our side.

(sigh)

"The black people are ours, we own them".

You and your party disgust me.

I literally never said that?

You scoffed at the idea of black people being republican.

No, I scoffed at the idea of "some blacks" shifting to the GOP just because they see a black man on the RNC stage. Like, how stupid do you think black voters are?

You guys literally do the same thing lmfaoooooooooo
the Republican Party is mostly racist
Come to the table with a better argument than that. Seriously, you are just embarrassing yourself.

I'm not at all embarrassed, though perhaps you should ask yourself why people with racist values embrace the GOP. Really, it'd behoove you to question why racists feel so welcome & at home within your party. Ask yourself: why do neo-Nazis more-than-occasionally feel as if their interests coincide with those of your party? Why doesn't anybody within your party think to make it clear that the party has no place for it, if they don't?

neonazis are mainly socialists, they just left your party in the past few years because you went too insane with your white male hate/open borders bullsh*t.  And nobody in our party likes them because they are not members of our party.  They dont like Trump anymore and back Yang and Gabbard and at times Illhan Omar.
