Thirty percent  (30%) of Americans say they will definitely vote for Hillary Clinton if she runs for President in 2008. Thirty-eight percent (38%) will definitely vote against her.

Twenty-nine percent (27%) of Americans say New York's junior Senator is "very likely" to win the Democratic nomination in 2008. Another 32% say she is "somewhat likely" to be the party's nominee.

Hillary's reputation as a polarizing figure remains intact. Nationally, 42% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Hillary while 41% hold an unfavorable view.

Perceptions of Hillary Clinton are shifting back to the political left. Forty-eight percent (48%) now see her as politically liberal, up from 42% two weeks ago.

Thirty-two percent (32%) view New York's Junior Senator as politically moderate while 5% say she's conservative

I'd vote for her in the general, but not the primary.

Yeah, she might actually win. In spite of her unpopularity on this board, she's better than who ever the Republicans cook up.

Well, it does depend a little on who she runs against, (if the Reps nominate Satan and the only way he will lose is if we rally behind Hillary, I’ll vote for her,) but if the Republicans nominate anyone competent, I’ll definitely be vote against her.

P.S. I won’t be able to vote in 2008, so my opinion doesn’t really matter, does it? Tongue

(D) Depends who she runs against

If she faces McCain or even Hagel, I'd support the Republican.  Otherwise, I'd vote for her.  She arises strong passions in people, but not me.  I don't love or hate Hillary, I'm indifferent.

Depends who she runs against.  There are a couple of Republicans I would vote for over her.  Mostly DC outsiders... Pawlenty, Romney, etc...

Or Pawlenty, for that matter.  Governors are tricky -- you don't know how they stand on certain issues because they don't have voting records.  That's why they do so well in general elections, and also why I'm uneasy about electing a Gov from the opposite party.

Who she runs against is the dependant factor.  Though I would probably end up voting for her.

It depends on her opponent, but even moreso if Congress changes parties in 2006. If the Dems take a chamber, I'm a lot more likely to give the GOP nominee in 08 fair consideration.

In no particular order:

Sen. Evan Bayh (IN)
Sen. Russ Feingold (WI)
Gov. Mark Warner (VA)

(And with regard to Ken Salazar, I sure as hell will not for a senator who has only just won his first term in office, and then turn around and run for president four years later without even completing his term in office.  He has not made any indication that he will run for for president, and I am somewhat mystified why you mention him now.  I will definitely consider voting for him in future elections however -perhaps in 2012 or 2016 when he will have served at least two terms as senator.)

If the Democrats nominate Hitlery and the John (owned by the liberal media) McCain, ethical people will have to find another candidate.

If, heaven forbid, she wins the nomination, I would vote for her.  Unless Rudy or McCain ran, upon which I would be much conflicted.

(D) epends.

Though I loathe cronyism and nepotism in politics, there are a few Republicans I would still choose her over.  (Jeb, Sanetorium, Allen).  But I will give any moderate serious consideration in any case, and doubly so if she is the nominee.
