Via painless means (not necessarily at will).

Definitely not. They should, however, be given free treatment.

Speaking as someone who has attempted suicide, no. Absolutely not.

If after a long period of treatment they still feel that way, than yes.

I don’t know or have an answer, but I do know this - it’s better than jumping off a bridge.

No, we should build a mental health system worth a damn instead.

Exactly.

I would rather our culture, laws, and medical professionals pull depressed and suicidal people away from the ledge. It's a hell of a lot better than giving them a push.

No, that shouldn't be encouraged.

I was suicidal at different points and during that I wouldn't have wanted an option like that to be available, honestly I would have died in February of 2013 if I had been able to tie rope better or had access to a gun so if I had just been able to walk into a doctor's office and be put to sleep who knows if I would even be here?

Helping the suicidal by helping them... commit suicide? How is this even a question?

No: by lowering the threshold for it, there will be more people choosing suicide who might very well feel fine in the future.

No

Also, anyone who opposes this while supporting capital punishment is automatically a very illogical person.

For this to not end up taking lives of people that could go on even with events and/or severe clinical depression, it is necessary for there to be monumental leaps for the current levels of quality of mental health treatment here. Even tat may not be adequate as your going to see huge disparities between area, class, ethnicity.
