Currently, Democrats are 64% of ballots in Massachusetts (was 66% in 2016 presidential primary).

Now at 65%.

Capuano supported sanctuary cities in the 1980s. in the 1990s, he supported Medicare-for-all. By the morning, everyone will talk about how he was a "corporate, centrist dem."

I don't get it, if this is the case, why does he have a primary challenger? What did he do?

Sometimes it's about what the incumbent did, but rather what the challenger WILL do.

Although, Capuano also made very out-of-touch comments about race, and he passionately supported the Blues Lives Matter bill (and said it didn't go far enough).

Because he's a dirty white male.

Not even being particularly factitious here, Pressley's campaign focused a lot on how she's a woman of colour in a district which is minority-majority.

Huge dump from Suffolk apparently: Democrats now at 68.3% of ballots.

He had the misfortune of living in the same district as Ayanna Pressley. Capuano did pretty much nothing wrong.

"Ayanna Presley is going to be a good Congresswoman." -Capuano

Still doesn't beat the time when Crowley sang "Born to Run" when conceding.

New vote dump narrows the margin in the 7th district. Pressley 53.3%, Capuano 46.7% with 31% in.

Dems identity politics knows no bound... Pressley doesn't seem that bad of a person but dems will get themselves in trouble if they keep doing this.

Why couldn't dems get rid of Menendez? Jesus christ.

Oh, that’s why you supported Shalala?  Because of what she’ll do?  Come on, I know this is Atlas, but quit insulting everyone’s intelligence.

Somewhat, but I don't think anyone is super surprised after what happened with Crowley. This race has definitely been on the radar screen as competitive since then.

It seems like in a lot of Democratic cities we're starting to see some changing of the guard/weakening of the old machine.

Fun Fact: Mike Capuano is the uncle of actor Chris Evans, who famously plays Captain America in the Marvel universe.

Dems identity politics knows no bound..
Oh please. How many times have voters of color and women voters been told to get in line for a bland white male that whispers about their issues because he's more "electable". That wasn't identity politics? And some people may have just wanted a fresh face. There's absolutely nothing wrong with people wanting a new perspective or the perspective of a woman. This whole time when yall thought Capuano was going to win they were literally the same on every issue but now that she's won, people are "concerned" about identity politics. LOL.

Lori Trahan     4,055    35.8%
Rufus Gifford     2,297    20.3%
Daniel Koh     1,359    12.0%
Juana Matias     882     7.8%
Barbara L'Italien 842            7.4%
16% in

Barbara L'Italien completely crashing and burning so far in MA-07. Damn. Trahan out to a surprisingly strong start, interesting considering I was under the impression that it was likely to be one of Koh, Gifford, and L'Italien.
