I would say 1980s California - The Birth Place of Supply Side Economics, and lowering taxes movement. Also 1980s California was basically , Orange County Politics running an entire state

2010s Wisconsin, whatever that means, LOL. But really... WI >>>> CA, regardless of which decade we are talking about.

1980s California. Even with Scott Walker leading, 2010s Wisconsin is more liberal than 1980s California.

1980's CA was a F^&*ked up land.

Super-corrupt old-timey Democratic Senator
Jerry Brown going a little cuckoo
Quixotic Hayakwa replaced by Stinky Pete
The Bradley Effect rises
The fall of the old military complex, but the tech boom isn't there yet.
San Francisco was under the wreckage of Feinstein...though Agnos was good

At least 2010's Wisconisn had the butt end of Feingold and Doyle, Baldwin got in, and for all Walker's done, he's not getting away with everything, what with his approvals.

Um... both 2010's Wisconsin and 1980's California are/were more conservative than I am, especially on social issues. I guess I'd pick California though for the climate.

Anywhere in the 80s was better than anything now, at least politically.

Well, there were still some actual moderate/liberal Republicans and centrist/conservative Democrats back then, so I'd have to agree. things were a bit less polarized although by the 80's they were already noticeably worse than in previous decades.
