I'm sure no one else cares, and obviously it's just one poll, but I feel a little vindicated for keeping Nelson at Lean D.

Congrats. He now leads in 2 out of the last 8 polls. "Lean D"
He actually leads 3 of the last 8 polls, but I wouldnt count St. Leo, the FL chamber of Commerce, or the Florida Atlantic University, all of which are renown bad pollsters. Gravis should also be thrown out, cause Gravis.

We have only actually gotten 4 good polls of this race, 2 with Nelson leading and 2 with Scott leading. But since Scott hasnt escaped the margin of error, or gotten past 2%, even with the crappy polls counted, Nelson spending his own money should make the race Lean D.

According to Atlas, it's 2 out of 8
https://uselectionatlas.org/POLLS/SENATE/2018/polls.php?fips=12&class=1

So you're saying a poll that overestimated Democrats in 2016 is now biased against them?

In any case, it's still more evidence than there is for putting this race "Lean D", which there is zero evidence for. If anything, it's Lean R.

The SurveyMonkey poll is probably the worst one, being done over a month period online. I didnt even know about it.

Anyway, just because they overestimated in 2016 doesnt mean they are now D forever. If I recall, Trafalgar overestimated Rs in 2016, and they just came out with a poll saying Donnelly was ahead in the double digits. Does that mean Joe is Safe, no. It means Trafalgar is a bad pollster, just like the FL ones. Surprisingly, the only pollster to be close in 2014 and 2016 in FL was PPP.

Man, what a riveting, mature, thought-provoking, intellectual discussion going on here. Seriously, the mods should probably step in at some point.

I guess Rick Scott is relying on his horcruxes to stay afloat at this point.

Random question: If Scott wins, does he have to resign the governorship on January 3, 2019, the date new members of congress usually assume office? Because, according to Wikipedia, his term as governor expires on January 8. This would make Carlos Lopez-Cantera governor for five days. I noticed that Bob Graham resigned the governorship in 1987 after being elected to the senate, making his lt. gov. Wayne Mixon governor for three days. I guess Scott can't be both for a few days? Or could he delay the swearing in as senator?

Delaying his swearing in would make him junior to all other new senators elected this year, so I doubt he'd do that.

I’m sorry, I guess it shouldn’t annoy me that much and I got edgy about it. I just found it a little annoying trying to find threads when they change every week or so

It's interesting that's how you perceived it. I only ever changed any thread one time, and I think I did a bunch one week ago.
