Predictions: Morrissey wins WV-SEN, Renacci wins OH-SEN.

Lol no

Better not be going off of raw vote total making that prediction.

Morrisey now second in Kanawha. Blankenship's done.
But...but....PNM told us he would win running away....he told us Blankenship fit the average primary voter like a glove....

Tbf, PNM is far from the only one on this forum who said that.

Well, sure: there are more people on this site with a vested interest in the GOP making even more of a mockery of itself than just that clown, yes. Wink

Are total votes in primaries a good indicator of general election?  cuz Democratic totals in Indiana and Ohio suck.

No, but I honestly think the vote totals for the individual congressional races are.

They're not.  You can check back for previous primary/general election results.  Trying to judge the general election by the primary turnout is fool's gold.  The only thing that is sometimes indicative is if a 'star candidate' gets a lesser share of the primary vote than expected.

Didn't they break up in the 90's when Mitch wanted a solo career?

I think some credit has to be given to the West Virginia Republican primary voters.  Blankenship clearly is no dummy (he's evil but not stupid) but in that late ad, he sounded genuinely mentally challenged.  I think he clearly believed West Virginians are idiots and that was the way to appeal to them.  Good for West Virginia Republicans for seeing through him.

The Club for Growth guy is ahead in WV-03 on the R side now.  Would be good news for Ojeda in the fall.

Blankenship losing the primary and then spending the rest of the year attacking the Republican party is probably a better outcome than him winning the primary, given that he is certifiably insane.

Pittenger losing in NC-08 is excellent for the Dems. There won't be any incumbent advantage for the GOP in the race.

Pittenger was arguably weaker than an open race.

Harris is also an insane mother er, so GOP voters didn’t completely disappoint

Thanks for the consolation prize, crazy people Smiley

It was the Chinapeople for sure, trying to frame Don as deranged and mentally ill. Never trust a Swamp Captain.

Anyway, looks like results tonight went about as I expected, save for WV, where I really did think Blankenship would do better, although I still suspected it was a race between him and Morrissey. Interesting that Pittenger could lose – that could definitely throw the race to McCready, given how far right Harris is. It's also great that Cordray won by as much as he did. Assad lovin' Kucinich just keeps embarrassing himself.

It's better for the country because there is a 0% chance he wins the general election.
