I'm putting my Australian Republic timeline on hold for now, and kinda lost enthusiasm for my Trump 2008 timeline. So, I propose the following TLs. Take your pick.

-Feel the Bern!: Mayor Bernie Sanders wins a stunning victory in the 1986 Vermont Gubernatorial election. Can he turn this shocking victory into a long-term career at the top levels of national politics?

People's Party of America: In the aftermath of the PATRIOT Act vote, Russ Feingold, disillusioned with the Democratic Party, splits and forms his own party, along with a handful of left wing officeholders. Can this new party emerge with electoral success and upset the two-party system?

Mirror Image: In a universe where America is a parliamentary nation still under rule of the Queen, left-wing Labor MP Bernie Sanders wins the leadership of the party in a stunning upset. Can he overcome the resistance within and without his party to win the Prime Ministership?

A Semi-presidential America:  In a world where the US constitution was designed to strike a balance between a presidential and parliamentary system, follow the chaotic 2016 general election, to elect a new President, and a new majority in the Parliament.

We’ve seen a million Bernie TLs and none of them are ever interesting and always eminently predictable. A semi-Presidential America TL would be so damn cool.
