Most people won't care about this in two years, yet I'll be a little counterintuitive here and say that the fact that there's controversy about it within the party, and that she's being criticized by some folks on social media, probably helps her more than if it was something that all Democratic voters were 100% behind.
By getting some pushback on her actions, she keeps the story alive longer than it otherwise would have been, which is probably good if you're running in a primary with a large field. Whatever gets your name out there is probably good.
