AL: To become an independent hard-right theocracy under their ruler Roy Moore.

I'm concerned about leaving all the Black folks behind.

They could all just move en masse to Georgia if they wanted to make their voting power count.

...so basically the trail of tears but for black people?

Tears of happiness from leaving Alabama.

Btw, Indiana would be on this list after Ohio, but Indiana is useful just to drive between Michigan and Illinois. If every part of the state except Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties (maybe St. Joseph too) were deleted off the map, that would be awesome.

Can we wait until after I party in Indianapolis for New Year's Eve?  Might also need some time to evacuate my sister and maybe one last meal at St. Elmo in Indy, too. Tongue

Lol

Illinois, because I hate everything about it except the Field Museum.

Florida, because I hate the heat.

Indiana, because I hate it so much I moved to Ohio.

West Virginia has way more inbreds (and electoral votes) than Wyoming. Getting rid of Wyoming would basically just be getting rid of a bunch of nice scenery.

Remove, Alaska, Hawaii, and uh, maybe Maine... AK and ME can join Canada and Hawaii can be independent. This is geographic more than political.

Merge, North and South Dakota, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and Maryland and Delaware. Also geographic.

Merge South Dakota and North Dakota.

Merge Alabama and Mississippi and throw Florida's panhandle into the mix.

Split Delaware between MD and PA. MD gets slower, lower Delaware, PA gets New Castle County.

Merging states is a cop-out.

Anyway, I'll say MA, VT, and RI (not a white supremacist, normal).

Merge: VA/WV, MS/AL, and OH/PA

Hmmm....

California - (More than) half the people are there are Socialists anyway.

Merge Rhode Island with Connecticut - Can somebody tell me why a place with, maybe, two counties is a state? LOL.

Maine - They're practically Canadians anyway (and I couldn't think of any other states to get rid of, LOL)

That's not normal! You made the rest of New England look weird! VT/NH/ME (as well as enough of upstate NY to make the nexf point possible). They're all together. One motion. Right off!

That's objectively false. Either you're incredibly insular, or you're a troll.

Alabama is the one I'd get rid of first. Too many deplorables have come from that state: George Wallace, Jeff Sessions, Roy Moore, and basically anyone with an R after his or her name can be put into the basket. Of course, the best thing that state has ever done was giving us Channing Tatum.

Second state to go is a tie between Idaho and Oklahoma, but I'd probably show Oklahoma the door first since the state just keeps getting redder whereas Idaho has trended Democratic recently, not to mention that the Mormons are much nicer and friendlier than the "evangelicals" in the Bible Belt.

Third state to go would be either Mississippi or West Virginia but without West Virginia, those "Wrong Turn" movies wouldn't exist.

Vermont, despite their politics, is actually very beautiful. So I would say California, Hawaii, and Illinois. I wouldn't mind living in Vermont, and hey, my vote would matter.
