So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye...
In the final hours we have together, I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel for having the honor to serve as your 44th President. When I took the Oath of Office on September 5th, 2017, I had no idea that I would still be here today. And of course, while we are talking about the beginning, I must also give thanks to Former President dfwlibertylover, my Vice President, PiT, People's Speaker North Carolina Yankee, and Secretary of State/PPT Reactionary for not only helping me get to where I am today, but believing in me long before anyone else did, including myself.
This ride we have been on together certainly hasn't been the easiest. We've faced attacks on our own citizens, we've endured war, we've endured international conflicts, we have struggled to work towards an awareness of the deficit and coming up with the push to reduce it. We have faced divided ideas on the direction we should go as a country, and very heated elections since taking office. But through all of our struggles, we still remain united, and we still remain proud Atlasians.
While we may have had our struggles, let us not forget our successes. We have made great strides in protecting and preserving our most precious natural resources, we have fought for the rights and protection of our workers, we have defended our natural rights outlined in the Constitution, we have passed a budget for the first time in several administrations, we have made huge changes to the structure and cost of our healthcare system and how our citizens and veterans can receive treatment, and so much more in the ten months we've had together. While many have said that Atlasia is moving in the wrong direction, we must stop and take a lot at where we were, what we have done, and how far we've come. We must take the time to savor all the good that we have, and trust that we will continue to push for better, because that is what we as a nation have always strived to do.
I am proud of how far we have come, and I am proud to have served Atlasia in this role all this time. I also trust that in the next administration, our nation will be in the best of hands and look forward to what the future holds. I want to thank you all for this amazing opportunity, and Dave Bless Atlasia!
