Kris Kobach to DHS, and then commence deportations.

You should deport yourself to Somalia

Lol this is such a dumpster fire

Who takes over at DHS now?

A deputy secretary was confirmed months ago, she is now the acting secretary. Of course to appoint a permanent secretary Trump has to go through the Senate confirmation process.

Who would want to go from Secretary of DHS to Trump's CoS?

This is about as good of a replacement that we could have hoped for.

Hopefully Kelly can bring some order and stability to this dumpster fire of a White House.

What a disaster.

Worst thing out of all of this is that Kobach will likely be new DHS secretary

LOL. Kelly is not an extremist, as shown by the fact he was confirmed 89-11.

So if anything passes by a huge margin by the United States Senate it must not be crazy or extremist? You must love the Patriot act then.

As Bill Goldberg once said, "Who's next?"

This has been a wild couple of weeks in the Trump White House. First Spicey, now Reince. Plus the failing of TrumpCare and the the whole Jeff Sessions debacle. Also isn't he talking about firing Bob Mueller? Either he's Saturday Night Massacred himself or has consolidated power, time will tell I suppose.

Back in November when names were circulating for Cabinet picks, the other two leading names on Predictit for Homeland Security besides Kelly were Kobach and McCaul.

No, but given that Democrats have been fairly obstructionist with nominations, a YUGE confirmation margin indicates at least a decently moderate nominee.

This administration is a dumpster fire. Without the Clinton boogeyman, some indies are waking up, yet the cult will remain stable until Trump's economic policies hit them (that is, if they can actually pass anything substantial). The more the days past, the stronger I feel the Democrats position in 2018 are. "Save our healthcare and restore dignity" should be the new "Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive".

Good to surround himself with generals.

I sort-of agree with you.  When the increasingly inevitable coup happens, I'd prefer that the generals launching it be in a position to take over as smoothly as possible.

I don't want a coup at all, but if we're going to get one anyway it might as well be as orderly as such a thing can be.

Another problem that could be solved if he had the flexibility that he so envies in Steve Bannon.

I understand and sort-of share the worry. But compared to Trump, Kelly seems like a steady hand. (Compared to Trump, most posters here seem like steady hands.)

The GOP can end this clown circus at any time by impeaching him. (And if necessary, Pence too.)

I just realized, Trump actually called Kelly, 'Great Leader'.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Leader

I'll give him a pass on this one, and assume he's just an imbecile rather than malevolently hinting at his aspirations to turn Kelly (or himself) into dictator.

Likely because she wants no part of the inevitable investigation that will fall right into The Mooch's Cooch.
