For me, massive FF. Her jurisprudence as a New Federalist and case-by-case approach to every case is amazing.

Proof that Reagan > Trump, who would never appoint a moderate like her.

You don't like Breyer, RBG, Kagan, or Sotomayor?

Lean HP for Gore v. Bush and for Kelo v. New London. Admittedly, the latter is a disgusting case of broken clock for the right-wing and WTF-ery from Ginsburg, so perhaps that's not fair.

But really, her record seems very Anthony Kennedy-esque.

I like Sotomayor and RBG all right, but I'm still annoyed that they are generic liberal hacks who clearly interpret the Constitution on the basis of their political views rather than focusing exclusively on the legal merits of the case. That still leads them to the right conclusion most of the time, but not always and not for the right reasons.

By contrast, O'Connor, along with John Paul Stevens, was one of the last Justices who seemed genuinely concerned about avoiding judicial activism and deciding cases on their objective merits.

Kelo is definitely one of O'Connors positions that piss me off too... Not that she's always wrong.

Interesting. Generally, I realize SCOTUS matters are touchy, but White, O'Connor, and Stevens all generally indicated an amazing amount of judicial independence. I would argue that Rehnquist and Souter managed this feat as well, but that's up for debate.

FF, one of the 3 best supreme court justices in the last 35 years
I assume the other two are among this list: Kennedy, Souter, Rehnquist, White, Roberts, Marshall?
