Ugh, not surprised though. She had been actively lobbying for him to do so. We'll see if this has weight, I doubt it'll stop someone like Salmon from entering.

Wow. I also noticed Ward is getting good coverage on the Fox network, she was basically not allowed on the network. But now that she's a more serious candidate this time and is more polished I understand.

I also expect this endorsement to cause others considering the race to speed up their thinking.

Also- Christine Jones, millionaire woman who runs for every open seat in AZ, will not be running for senate.

Problem for Salmon is that AZ does not have runoffs if he and McSally or any other consensus candidate split the vote Ward can easily become the nominee.

After Jeff Flake announces that he will retire, a new poll show Kelli Ward leading the GOP field with 26 % of the vote followed by Martha McSally with 19 %.

Since McSally refused to take a position on whether she recommended voters in her district to vote for Donald Trump in 2016 and to her military service background, could McSally become the establishment candidate? Does she have a decent chance to defeat Ward in the Republican senatorial primary?

Could the moderate big money fundraiser become the establishment candidate? I think the answer is obvious. She won't run though.

Yes she could but then that put a target on her head that Ward could easily use.

My beef with Rand Paul is not his views, it's the fact that ever since he conceded the nomination he has been proving over and over again he's an opportunist. He's been very inconsistent with his beliefs, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if his views aligned more with Sinema than Ward.

No, but she has the appearance of one, just like Vogel. They are the most dangerous type of Republicans.

I doubt McSally would be running ads about MS-13.

LOL no. Remember, partisanship is really high, and each seat really matters. Even if so, he'd never endorse her. Also, Ward is considered to be a more libertarian-leaning Republican in the mold of Lee/Paul, while Sinema strikes me as a Lieberman-type in some ways.

Sinema is only a moderate because she lives in Arizona and had high ambitions. I have no doubt her personal views are quite liberal.

Based on her voting record for her first two years, I would say McSally is a moderate Republican, not a conservative like her four other Republican colleagues in the Arizona delegation. Her approval ratings from American Conservative Union are 58 in 2015 and 76 in 2016. The other Republicans in the Arizona House delegation are the type of Republicans who usually get scores in the 90s and often up to 100%.

REALLY? I absolutely wouldn't put it past her at all. I could count on a single hand the number of GOP officials that I'd think would shy away from that kind of campaign.

BREAKING NEWS developed while we were asleep

McSally will run
http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/arizona/2017/11/07/martha-mcsally-announces-senate-run-flake-seat-us-house-colleagues/802548001/

This is obviously a tough decision for her as her seat in my opinion is now tilt D, on top of that she will receive HEAVY opposition from conservative groups(ever since Club4Growth came out opposing her there has been a handful of other orgs stating they will work to oppose her...Including Citizens United).

The link just goes to the reply page for this topic, and Google doesn't reveal any news articles on this. Is this a joke?
