I made a new thread because of how many people misunderstood the other one.

How is race baiting and nationalist posturing a lesser evil than wanting to raise taxes and nationalise the trains exactly?

Calling Hamas friends, being very anti sematic , blaming the West for terrorism

Calling Hamas friends - bad, but hardly worse than Trump's weird sucking up to the Saudis

being anti-semitic - again, slightly unfair to point the finger at Corbyn and at the same time absolve Trump of the same thing

blaming the west for terrorism - his analysis was far more nuanced than this.

On the flipside, Corbyn didn't talk about any of these things (except terrorism) as part of his campaign, whereas Trump's entire campaign was based on stirring up ethnic and religious resentment.

So it's pretty ridiculous to go and claim Corbyn is worse because of things that Trump is still far, far worse at.

That's like saying ISIS and Iran are the same. Saudi Arabia is not a terrorist organization that targets innocents and children. They don't use their own people as meatshields. The Saudi people aren't extremely poor and in a state of humanitarian disaster because of their King's actions.

The people of Yemen, however, do live in a state of humanitarian disaster thanks to the Saudis.

(And it's not like Saudi has no culpability in the emergence of ISIS)

The point is, the implications of Corbyn's indulgences of anti-semitism are basically nil. The fact that he called Hamas friends or indulges anti-semites wouldn't have any impact on his policy making.

In contrast, the impilictions of Trump's excesses have already been pretty dramatic.

Trump is terrible. I'm still voting for him, and the world deserves what it gets for putting the evil, revolting Stalinist Corbyn out there as a choice.
