This certainly was good to see, though. It'll give statewide officials time to work out the issues and develop a more efficient way of counting. Hopefully more states come to adopt the system.

Follow-up: While IRV will not be used for federal elections, will it be used for the gubernatorial election?

So four rounds would be after Eves was knocked out I'm guessing. So a fair amount of his second place votes must have gone to Mills. I'm excited to see the round by round numbers.

After four rounds Sweet was eliminated. Election night was "round 0".

Ah, in my rush to judgment I looked past the 54-46 numbers. Thank you!

Nope, Cote got more Sweet votes after her elimination. He was just too far behind.

Wait, nope, misread the results. Mills got 14,000 from Sweet, Cote got 12,000.

Both previously worked for the Maine Women's Lobby, maybe that had something to do with it. Though Janet and Betsy do not get along at all, and Betsy has told me privately that it would be "hard" for her to support Janet.

Really, how well Mills does is directly related to how well Hayes does. If she picks up progressives for her Sweetesque "Get Money Out Of Politics!" clean election campaign, Dems will flock to her to prevent Moody.

My vote will be whichever one of those two is leading in polling on the day before the election.

I'd take Terry Hayes more seriously if she actually had an issues page on her website. It's almost July and... nothing. Even Alan Caron has one.
