Federalist (I/O). I would have been very moderate though.

Economics.
There was some nasty stuff pushed by the Federalist brass though, that I would not support (see: Alien and Sedition Act).

Both of the above

Federalist -> 1800 Election Lean Federalist -> Serious frustrations between 1800-1804 -> 1804 Lean Republican ->  Republican (D)

Oh and one vote against Madison in 1812.

Soft Democratic Republican (both paties were full of trmendous hypocrites of course, and at the end of the day this very much is dependent on long-forgotten identity politics)

Mechaman had the greatest commentary on the First Party System:

The New York Democratic-Republican party was basically Hamiltonian economics + Jeffersonian Democracy, so I'll go with them.

This if this is an option.

Otherwise, a bizarre Federalist who strongly opposed the alien and sedition acts and believed in expanding the franchise and then convincing people of the necessity of federalist ideas.

I chose independent because I would basically be a reverse Patrick Henry. (Initially Federalist only to turn to the other side.)

The, like, entire point of being a Federalist was to restrict franchise....

Democratic-Republican. Of the Presidents in this time:
1. Washington(barely ahead of Madison)
2. Madison

3. Jefferson

4. Adams and Monroe

The Federalist Party's monarchist sympathies were the worst possible: English. Even a Prussian prince would be better than some English prince.

Yeah, probably something like this, though I'm not entirely sure.

I would probably have been a moderate DR. Interestingly, I think both parties have more in common with the modern Republican Party than either does with the modern Democratic Party.

How many people who voted Federalist in this poll would have switched in the 1800s?

After reading the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers I probably would have been a D-R of a rather radical stripe.

Democratic-Republican in the context of those times, though I'd probably be very supportive of Washington.
