Rauner's LG refers to "us" as the "working class"

Hilarious.
He is going to get creamed.

Kennedy wins another random downstate county by two votes. His candidacy is so hilariously impotent that this result is more funny than it is anything else.

I still have literally no idea as to who voted for the dude.

A combination of AA voters (he got some key endorsements) and people who were too moderate for Biss but hate machine politics (small voting segment).

Pretty embarrassing showing for Rauner. He'll narrowly hold on, but he's probably toast in the general. Unless this ends up being a good year for Republicans, he's probably not even going to make it particularly close.

He actually worked really hard to ingratiate himself in the AA community, and spoke out fiercely against Rahm.
What happened to all that momentum Kennedy had?
It wasn't real.

Was there ever any point within the past 4 years where Rauner looked favored to win reelection?

Ives concedes with NO pledge of support for Rauner. Very notable.

Ok, what's the deal in DeWitt County (Clinton)? Not a single vote counted there yet?

Interesting exurban belt on the map that went for Ives - Will, Kane, Kendall, and McHenry - with city and inner burbs for Rauner.

RIP The People's Pat's comeback

Also, does Illinois have sore loser laws? It would be hilarious if Ives ran as an independent.

Who are the 13,000 people who vote for Robert Marshall

I thought about it for a bit -- Marshall's the generic anti-everything protest vote. Hardiman & Daiber (to some extent) have real constituencies and views, and an overperformance for either would mean something. A Marshall vote is a pure and genuine "none of the above."
