Rauner might be helped by super low downstate turnout.  No major major candidates from any of the big races from downstate.  Should depress turnout.

Good (better) early number for Rauner in Dekalb. But much less votes, so hard to know representativeness.

With 55% in lake there are roughly only 13K votes.

Versus 43K total in 2014.

Republican turnout is DOWN.

Don't forget, Ives does represent a suburban Chicago district.  She's not a downstate pol - might not have the appeal to downstate everyone assumed.

Note that he lost Peoria in 2014 for what it matters, still very early though.

I really doubt Ives is going to put up big numbers downstate if Rauner is getting 61% in Peoria... he lost it in the 2014 primary. These results are gonna break some of our assumptions methinks.
