I wish the Clinton camp was being more aggressive in Georgia. There's so much potential there. Still, winning Arizona will be quite nice.

I think they see a better return on investment in AZ; it's more likely to flip than GA.

FWIW, HP's Meg Whitman was in town on Friday (primarily for business reasons; she was the keynote speaker at a CIO conference), but she also appeared at a "Republican Women for Hillary" gathering.

I wish Meg had a little extra time on her busy business schedule to hit other major HPE sites in Houston, Plano, Austin, and maybe even throw in Boise or Tulsa....

Don't ask me how I know, but these are some of the largest HPE campuses in the United States... Smiley

Trump campaign chief executive Stephen K. Bannon has settled on three states in particular — Michigan, Wisconsin and New Mexico — where the candidate and campaign will devote more time and money

I was really hoping they'd ignore New Mexico.

Odd election when the GOP is targeting Michigan while the Dems are targeting Arizona.

That is not the most odd thing that has happened this cycle.

Guess they decided to waste the last of their money.

Understandable. NC, FL and NV look to be firmly in Trump's camp now, so it makes sense to push into bluer states.

I suspect this is a narrative building action. Do some low level activity in close but sure to lose states. Lose the election. Claim that all the states they competed in and lost were rigged, just emboldening the local republicans to be sure to turn out in 2018.

FL is at worst tied for Clinton, and she leads in NC and NV

Go ahead, continue wasting your time and money. Just please do it in away from states libertarians will have a higher turnout, like New Mexico.

There has not been one reliable poll showing Trump ahead in WI, NM or MI all cycle, but waste resources there in the last week? That's like sending Hillary to Missouri and Indiana next week. Silly.

While Obama and Clinton are pushing hard in real battlegrounds, they're going to WI, MI, and NM? Okay, sure.

This is also an admission from the Trump campaign that they will lose Pennsylvania so they need a miracle somewhere else.

Basically, this is what we know (and what the Trump campaign knows):

Nevada is just about gone
They trail significantly in PA, NH, and now NC (NC has a lot of its early vote cast already, so hard to make a comeback there)

So they have no current path to 270 and have to throw a Hail Mary

Throw everything at the wall with a light pitch to see if anything sticks, and everything will slide to the floor.

Robert Costa:

"Many of them describe the way to 270 not as a direct shot but a series of upsets and bank shots, of strong R showing  + depressed D turnout"

They're still nowhere close

More from Costa:

"My read of Trumpland tonight: They know the path is very narrow. They see the polls, pub and priv. But they're scrambling map post-Comey..."

Good. Sounds like they aren't even seeing much to get hopes up inside of Trump's circle. Glad to hear.

LOL. If NV is firmly in anyone's column it's Hillary's.
