Does Sanders get absolved for advocating capitalist policies including being to the right of you on health care.

If he starts calling himself a capitalist, maybe.

My favorite line of his in the debates was when he started advocating for small businesses I think it went something like this:

"I am a democratic socialist, and one of the tenants of democratic socialism is the protection of labor unions and small businesses."

He's not necessarily wrong: the socialist goal of worker-owned means of production could be interpreted as every worker being their own small business. Tongue

Updated rules after realizing this is a bit too broad:

Wulfric>   "Socialist by Association" comprises 1) voting for Bernie for President, 2) being married to or being in the immediate family of Bernie Sanders,  3) being endorsed by him in a primary election

I officially endorse Wulfric's new Socialist By Assocation Platform.

As Chairman of the Socialist Via Association Campaign, I present our new rule:

4) If you ever have or currently live in a state that voted for Sanders in a caucus with >60% of the vote, or your state had at least three Representatives endorse Sanders, you are a Socialist Via Association.

What about if one lives in States, Counties, Cities, Precincts where Sanders captured over 60% of the vote in the Democratic Primaries?

Maybe a new Wulfric Rule of Socialist identification should include various communities that heavily supported Sanders?   Wink

This is quite an interesting thread, so naturally needed to peruse his resume where his pivotal work "On the State of Socialism in California in 2016" on the 2016 Cali Dem Primary Atlas thread definitely stood out, on which I was a minor contributor to that research project.

I would strongly suggest that Wulfric has the extensive Knowledge, Skills, and Experience (KSE) based  upon his insightful works on the spread of Socialism in California to address the current scourge and cancer spreading across this Great Nation.

Now, in order to identify where this cancer is most prevalent, naturally we will need to break it down to a neighborhood/precinct level where data is available, or in other parts of the country a township/city level to identify how best to combat the scourge that is endangering the very foundations of American Democracy.....

NOVA Green, primaries are staunchly capitalist enterprises. Caucuses are obviously socialist plots to take over our worldwide-envied party system.
