And I thought it couldn't get much worse than Bush-Kerry.

Would have preferred Sanders Trump, but this will be entertaining enough.

Obviously not (sane). Would have loved a Chafee vs. Kasich or Paul race.

I was hoping for a Chafee vs. Gilmore race.  Since they both have no money, the campaigning would be limited to locations within driving distance of their respective houses, which would've been quite the spectacle.  They would've been forced to debate at a freeway rest stop in New Jersey.

Ugh, is putting "Clinton" in capital letters going to end up being a thing?

I'm not satisfied.

Not particularly. Can we get a reset on this entire election season?

Trump is not my first choice.  But I am kind of glad that he will scale back the neocon influence and free trade dogma that has been too prominent in the GOP.
Trump vs. Clinton should be a great race.  Trump should win a 40 state landslide!

I am grateful for the body blow the GOP neocons and free traders have taken in this election.  These folks are the ones whose policies have been the most detrimental to America.

Clinton is acceptable and capable of being President of the United States of America, Trump is not.

People forget that Hillary was considered "inevitable" originally not because of her strength or that the party was rigging the primary towards her, but because the Democratic bench for President is pretty much nothing. Coming into 2016, pre-Trump when many were expecting the Republicans to be favored, the only candidates talked about as having a chance at winning the general were Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Andrew Cuomo, John Hickenlooper, and maybe Kirsten Gillibrand or Elizabeth Warren if Hillary said no.

I don't agree with that at all.  There were plenty of potential presidential candidates who would have had as good a chance as anyone in a general election, who simply chose not to run because it was clear to them that they couldn't beat Hillary Clinton for the nomination.  I'm pretty much with Jonathan Bernstein on this:

I'll go down this list:

-Martin O'Malley

We saw how well he did.

-Elizabeth Warren

-Would have loved

-Andrew Cuomo

Every crazy thing r/bernieforpresident says about Hillary can be accurately said about Cuomo.

-Al Franken, Tim Kaine, Mark Warner, Michael Bennet, Jeanne Shaheen, John Hickenlooper, Maggie Hassan

"Generic Democrats only brought up because they are from swing states"

-Mike Beebe

Huh

-Christine Gregoire

Wasn't even that popular in Washington, Hillary-lite

-Sherrod Brown

-Again, would have been great but not sure if he makes for a good presidential candidate

-Kirsten Gillibrand

Hillary-lite

Yes, I think The Donald will be shake up DC, what is really neccessary. However, I'd like another Democrat to run, so that if he/she wins, it wouldn't be as bad as Hillary. Joe Biden would be a far better president.

Something tells me that Cuomo wouldn't have been hated nearly as much by the Reddit bros though...just a hunch.

Not at all satisfied.  I have serious reservations about Hillary Clinton's foreign policy and her temperament.  This is the same person that quit being SoS 3 years ago because she said she was too tired and wasn't interesting in holding political office anymore.  It also annoys me that some great female democrats that I would have supported in a heartbeat didn't run because of her coronation.

As for Trump, pretty much every bad thing that's been said about him on this forum is true.

Terrible election.

I think Clinton isn't a good candidate, but basically agree with all her (stated) policy positions.

Trump is a mixed bag. While what the red avatar forumites says about him is true, he moderates on some issues and is doing to the GOP establishment what it deserves.

So overall, pretty meh.

...what? Very few cabinet members stay for all 8 years of a president's time in office. For Obama, literally only one person (Vilsack) has.
