I left for about a month in December/January. I got to the point where my post count said "leet" and decided to use that as an excuse to take a badly-needed break from the site for at least the remainder of 2015. Then in January I saw a post that really annoyed me and I had to respond.

Did anyone notice? I don't know, but no one said anything.

Yes. I'm a pretty high-profile member of the Atlas community. One time I was unable to come for three days thanks to a shortage of time on the computer and a friend emailed me, asking where I had gone and saying that I needed to come back.

That was in the old days, though.  The most recent times I've gone away for a week or more no one made any polls.  I've never announced my departures with a thread the way many posters do, and the forum has grown fat with posters so I don't think I'd be missed by anyone these days.
