Early 282 AL: Turn One

General View

The year is 282 AC. Word has spread across the realm of the “dishonoring” of Lyanna Stark. Nobody has called their banners, and everyone stands at an uneasy peace, however the reactions to the disappearance of Lady Stark and Crown Prince Rhaegar Targaryen remain to be seen. Has Prince Rhaegar kidnapped Lady Lyanna? How will the Starks react, and Lord Baratheon, betrothed to the northern lady? Will King Aerys focus on finding his son or stamping out the usurpation he sees all around him? Will the lords of Westeros uneasy with the Targaryen dynasty rise up, or will they join together under their king? Welcome, my friends, to After The False Spring.

-Legitimacy: 9/10
-Children: Catelyn Tully (18, betrothed), Lysa Tully (16, unbetrothed), Edmure Tully (12, unbetrothed)

-Rumors have reached you that the Crown Prince and Lady Stark may be traveling through your lands. Riders report a couple moving quickly and attempting to cover their tracks near the God’s Eye. Will you send out your forces to look for the runaways, and if so to what end?

-Brandon Stark has failed to arrive at Riverrun for the wedding to your daughter Catelyn. Will you seek to support Brandon in King’s Landing, or call off the arrangement due to this offense?

-With the possibility of war ahead, will you seek to betroth your daughter Cersei to form a valuable alliance?

-There is no likelihood that Rhaegar and Lyanna are in the Westerlands, but if your men were to find them it would be a powerful bargaining chip to get Aerys to release your son from the Kingsguard. Will you send your men into other regions to try and find the runaway nobles before anyone else?

-While none of your options seem ideal, who will you side with in the coming conflicts? Or will you keep the Westerlands out of it for the nonce?

-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 6,000,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 7/10
-Children: Rhaegar Targaryen (23, married), Viserys (6, unbetrothed)

-You have also arrested Ethan Glover, Brandon Stark's squire, Elbert Arryn, the heir to Lord Arryn, Kyle Royce, younger brother to Lord Yohn Royce, and Jeffory Mallister, younger brother of Lord Jason Mallister. What will be done with these prisoners?

-Your son, if the allegations are true, has committed a great offense both to Lord Stark and Lord Baratheon, to whom Lyanna is betrothed. What will you do about this situation?

-Your best intelligence points to Rhaegar leaving King’s Landing in two directions: to Harrenhall, and to Oldtown. Will you send out search parties to find the Crown Prince and Lady Stark?

-Prince Rhaegar has offended your sister and his wife if these allegations about him and Lady Lyanna Stark are true. How do you react to the situation?

-Your sister, Elia, and your brother Llewyn both reside in King’s Landing. While Llewyn is bound by his Kingsguard duties, will you seek to bring Elia and her children back to Dorne in the wake of this news?

-Some reports indicate Rhaegar was heading south when he allegedly abducted Lady Stark, leading to the possibility he may take refuge in Dornish lands. Will you send out a search for the missing nobles?

Lord Walder Frey
-Prestige: 5/10
-Gold: 489,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10
-Children: http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/House_Frey

-Rumors have reached you that Prince Rhaegar and Lady Lyanna may be crossing through the riverlands, including your lands around the Neck. Will you attempt to locate the missing nobles?

-There is Northern activity on the borders of your land, and you have received reports of a new garrison at Moat Cailin. Will you move to block the southern march of a Northern army?

-Hoster Tully had invited you to Riverrun for his daughter’s wedding, an invitation it could be an insult to refuse. Will you go or send an emissary in your stead?

-Congratulations, Lord Frey! Your fourth wife Bethany Rosby is newly pregnant with what will be your fifth child together. Your maester informs you she is due to give birth in seven months (or, at the start of turn 4).

-Gold: 3,000,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10
-Children: Willas (10, unbetrothed), Garlan (5, unbetrothed)

-Your mother Lady Olenna has heard from her intelligence network that Rhaegar was heading to Oldtown when he allegedly abducted Lyanna Stark. They could be taking a path through the Reach; will you send out search parties for them?

-Some houses of the reach claim that Dorne is amassing an army near your borders. Whether this is true remains to be seen, but will you preemptively act or wait and see?

Lord Quellon Greyjoy
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 990,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 8/10
-Children: Balon (23, married), Euron (16, unbetrothed), Victarion (14, unbetrothed), Urrigon (13, unbetrothed), Aeron (12, unbetrothed)

-With Lord Stark focused on the actions of his children, will you seize this opportunity and call for a return to reaving Northern shores and holdfasts, or seek to make an alliance with the high house?

-You have always been a cautious lord, but your sons are of another cloth. They urge you to take a more aggressive part in the Seven Kingdoms. Will you?

-House Harlaw and House Goodbrother have long been competing to be the second-most powerful house in the Iron Islands. This conflict could undermine your efforts should you enter the fray; how will you abate both bannermen and end the feud?

-Your eldest son and heir has missed his wedding date to Catelyn Tully, and was arrested in King’s Landing. He is accused of threatening the royal blood, a crime punishable by death. What will you do to save your son?

-Some rumors state that Rhaegar and Lyanna were seen in the Riverlands, bordering your own kingdom of the North. Will you send scouts south to try and locate your daughter?

-Will you take any action to protect your second son Eddard, or trust that his guest right as Lord Arryn’s ward will protect him?

-Will you seek to go to King’s Landing, Storm’s End, or remain in the Vale for the time being?

-Some rumors point Rhaegar leaving King’s Landing toward Oldtown, putting him on a likely path straight through the Kingswood and your lands. What actions will you take to find him and Lady Stark if these rumors are true?

-Your heir, Ser Elbert Arryn, as well as the younger brother of your bannerman Lord Yohn Royce have both been arrested in King's Landing alongside Brandon Stark. What will you do about this situation?

Early 282 AL: End of Turn One

The Search For Rhaegar And Lyanna
Lords far and wide sent out scouts to answer the call to find the Crown Prince and Lady Lyanna Stark. Mace Tyrell's scouts yielded nothing in the Reach, nor did Stannis Baratheon's in the Kingswood. Lord Hoster Tully, however, received a raven from Lord Whent that scouts had found evidence that the God's Eye rumors were indeed true; a campfire and and pair of tracks found by foragers on the western shore. King Aerys' dispatches returned to King's Landing emptyhanded.

The Court of the Mad King
King Aerys' proclamation disinheriting Rhaegar shook the capital to its political core. Within days, Lord Connington had left King's Landing, followed soon by Lord Merryweather after the king dismissed him from his post. Following the dismissal of Lord Merryweather, King Aerys quickly appointed Lord Mace Tyrell to be Hand of the King and called him to King's Landing within two months to take up the office.

The king held a trial for his prisoner Brandon Stark, and found him guilty. The young lord was executed in the throne room by Ser Ilyn Payne, the King's Justice. Ser Elbert Arryn, as well as the Mallister, Royce, and Glover prisoners were released following the execution. King Aerys paid each 4 silver pieces for their troubles before having the City Guard escort them to the city gates.

Following the King's disinheritance of Rhaegar, the High Septon emerged from seven days of prayer and announced that the Faith had annulled Aerys Targaryen's marriage to Rhaella Targaryen due to her mothering the usurping older son. Immediately upon hearing the High Septon's words, King Aerys brought Rhaella to the Dragonpit with his pyromancers and ordered her chained to a post. At her feet the King laid a real dragon egg that his closest advisors had discovered upon Dragonstone. Though the fire succeeded in killing Rhaella Targaryen, the egg was unhatched.

The following day, an assassin was successful in placing poison in the King's dinner, resulting in the sudden death of Aerys II Targaryen.

The Night of the Sand Snake
Queen Elia moved quickly to try and secure control in the Red Keep following Aerys' death. With the goal of restoring her son Aegon's right to the Iron Throne over Prince Viserys, she and her uncle attempted to convince the Kingsguard of the baby's more rightful claim. Unable to take Viserys into their possession, however, a brutal fight between the Martell forces and the other Kingsguard knights ensues.

When the fight turns against the Martells, Elia is caught in the fray with her son in her arms, resulting in both of their deaths. Ser Barristan Selmy succeeds in taking custody of Elia's daughter, while Ser Llewyn manages to narrowly escape from the Red Keep and board a ship out of the city by dawn.

The Lords Declarant of Rhaegar Targaryen
From the lands of House Connington at Griffin's Roost, the five houses Grafton, Connington, Merryweather, Whent, and Dayne bound their support for Prince Rhaegar Targaryen as rightful king of the Seven Kingdoms. Following this announcement and Lord Tyrell's appointment as Hand, the Reach houses Ashford, Caswell, Meadows, and Fossoway of Cider Hall all break from their Lord Paramount in support of King Rhaegar. While Lord Tyrell, Tully, and Martell were not quick enough to react to their respective bannerman's actions, Lord Arryn was able to quickly rally the support of Houses Redfort and Royce to besiege Gulltown. The city quickly surrendered and Lord Marq Grafton now resides in a very special cell at the Eyrie.

Stannis Baratheon, however, was less lucky. Acting under orders from Lord Robert, ten-thousand soldiers were raised from the houses of the Stormlands and amassed at Storm's End. Stannis led these forces on Griffin's Roost but were soundly defeated and forced to retreat.

Sellswords In Essos
King Aerys' final act was to sign a contract hiring the Golden Company and summoning them to King's Landing for his personal protection. However, the Second Sons under the hire of Doran Martell ambushed the former army outside Pentos and defeated them soundly. In the Stepstones, bad winds continue to hinder Dagmer Cleftjaw and Euron Greyjoy as they make their way to the Free Cities to hire a company as well.

The Squid And The Rose
Surprising many, Lord Reaper Quellon Greyjoy quickly parlayed his way into the favor of three powerful allies: Lord Walder Frey, Lord Tywin Lannister, and most importantly, Lord Mace Tyrell.

Quellon betrothed his son Urrigon Greyjoy to the Lady Victaria Tyrell, while Leo Tyrell was agreed to foster at Pyke and betrothed to Gysella Goodbrother, the daughter of Lord Quellon's close ally.

Meanwhile Quellon arranged an ambassadorship to Casterly Rock for Lord Rodrik Harlaw, effectively ending the dispute between Houses Goodbrother and Harlaw and cementing them in support of House Greyjoy. Lord Tywin sent his goodbrother Ser Stafford Lannister to Pyke to represent himself, and promised Lord Quellon to find a Westerlady to wed Lord Harlaw.

Lord Walder Frey managed to free himself of two sons, by sending Symond and Willamen Frey to Pyke as wards and accepting in return Victarion Greyjoy and Germund Botley. The younger son of Lord Greyjoy was also promised to a daughter of Lord Frey's, to be determined after he arrives at The Twins.

Following the announcement of King Aerys Targaryen's death, Mace Tyrell immediately prepared to leave for King's Landing but was halted by a sudden storm that stopped his progress just outside of Highgarden. Lord Greyjoy, however, found more favorable winds at sea. Having received confirmation that he would be made the new Master of Ships once Lord Tyrell reached the capital, Quellon sailed the entire Iron Fleet and seven-thousand men-at-arms to King's Landing and was able to swiftly claim the Blackwater Bay and encamp his soldiers outside the city gates. Meanwhile, inside the gates, the Kingsguard keep Prince Viserys safe while it is said Lord Varys now runs the court in the name of the Prince.

Raid on Starfall
Perhaps hoping to find Rhaegar being sheltered by a closely allied houes, Balon Greyjoy led a daring raid on Starfall. Little plunder was found, but the garrison will have to repair several walls and gates. Most pressing, however, is the fact that the Ironborn managed to kidnap Lady Allyria Dayne, the younger sister of Lord Maekar, Ser Arthur, and Lady Ashara.

Mid-Early 282 AL: Turn Two

General View

The king is dead. Lord Mace Tyrell rides with all due haste to take charge of King's Landing, where his new ally Quellon Greyjoy waits with reinforcements. Lord Rickard Stark has lost his heir to the Mad King, while the other casualties of the final two months of his reign include his wife Rhaella Targaryen, Elia Martell, and his own grandson Aegon. Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark are still nowhere to be found, though Lord Hoster Tully's bannermen did turn over evidence they'd found of the couple camping on the western shore of the God's Eye. Speaking of the missing Prince, a contingent of southron lords have defied the late Aerys' actions to disinherit him, and have pledged their fealty to only Rhaegar as King of Westeros. And in Essos, two sellsword companies are already preparing to sail to the Seven Kingdoms while an envoy has just arrived in Pentos seeking a third. More and more, war looks inevitable between the Great Houses of Westeros.

Lord Hoster Tully
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 1,399,800 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Brandon Stark is dead. Will you seek to wed Catelyn to Lord Rickard's new heir, the younger Eddard?

-Lord Whent has pledged his house to Rhaegar Targaryen as King of the Seven Kingdoms; will you join him? If not, how will you deal with this conflict of support from a bannerman, and the brother of your wife no less?

Lord Tywin Lannister
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: Unlimited GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-You have been suspiciously silent on current affairs. Will you seek to have an active role in the new reign of Viserys, or perhaps marry Rhaegar to Cersei should he be found?

-You have entered into a new era of diplomacy with the Iron Islands, but you have yet to make a Western match for Lord Harlaw. Will you move quickly to secure your alliance or continue to stall until you can see the bigger picture?

-Some of your bannerman have quietly voiced support for the West supporting Rhaegar Targaryen for the Iron Throne. Will you follow the advise of your lords?

Prince Doran Martell
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 1,650,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Your sister and nephew are dead. Your uncle has arrived in Sunspear as a fugitive of his sworn order. Most importantly, your niece remains a captive of those running things in the Red Keep. Without Llewyn in King's Landing to help, what measures will you take to protect Rhaenyra's life?

-Oberyn has returned with the Sunspear army, having turned back after receiving word of Elia's death. Where will you dispatch him to now?

-Your army in the Marches is ready for orders.

Lord Walder Frey
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 489,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Your scouts have yielded nothing, but the couple was said to have camped at God's Eye, so they may still be in the Riverlands. Will you continue the search?

-Your son has arrived at Riverrun, and reports a fairly cold reception as your envoy. Will you seek to further make amends for not coming yourself or leave the situation as it is?

-Many of your family members counsel you to declare for Rhaegar Targaryen. However your lord paramount does not seem inclined to support a Targaryen monarch at all. What will you do?

Lord Mace Tyrell
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 3,000,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 8/10

-You are finally on the road to King's Landing. What will you do upon arrival?

-The rumors of a Martell army amassing near your borders have turned out to be true. You have already lost the support of a handful of houses in the norheastern Reach; what will you do to reassure the bannermen who border Dorne and expressed concern initially?

-House Merryweather and a handful of other houses have joined the Lords Declarant for Rhaegar Targaryen, a conflict with your new office as Hand for the young Viserys. How will you address this?

Lord Quellon Greyjoy
-Prestige: 9/10
-Gold: 990,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-You have arrived in King's Landing first, but seeing as Mace Tyrell first needs to appoint you Master of Ships, your forces are barred from entering the city by the City Watch. Will you wait for your ally to arrive or take drastic action to secure your climb?

-Your son has kidnapped Allyria Dayne, a possibly valuable piece of leverage in convincing House Dayne to renounce Rhaegar Targaryen. What is to be done with the captive Lady?

Lord Rickard Stark
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 2,000,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Your son is dead. Eddard, your new heir, is far away in the Eyrie. Will you send for him to return to Winterfell to keep him safe?

-The matter of the betrothal with House Tully must be addressed. Will you propose to wed Catelyn and Eddard?

-Your daughter still has not been found. Will you continue to rely on other lords to search for them, or will you raise a host to search the south yourself?

Lord Robert Baratheon
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 1,200,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 6/10

-Stannis failed to suppress House Connington. Will you make another attempt to return to Storm's End to lead the army yourself?

-The maester at the Eyrie has pointed out to you that, as the eldest grandson of Aegon V Targaryen's younger daughter, you may have a claim to the Iron Throne. Will you enter your name into the Grand Council, should it come to fruition?

-Dorne has amassed an army in the Marches. Do you consider this a threat, and if so how will you react?

Lord Jon Arryn
Prestige: 8/10
Gold: 2,300,000 GD
Legitimacy: 10/10

-Congratulations on suppressing the Grafton rebellion! Lord Grafton is now your prisoner at the Eyrie. Your maester has proposed sentencing him to the Night's Watch, while your bannermen wish to see him executed. Another option remains: forgive Lord Grafton on the condition that he reswear his fealty to House Arryn as Lord Paramount of the Vale.

-Both Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark are growing frustrated that you have kept them in the Vale. Will you allow them to return to the North and Stormlands respectively, perhaps with your soldiers protecting them on the road?

-The Iron Fleet has arrived on the eastern coast of Westeros. Will you seek to give the Vale strength at sea in response?

End of Turn 2 (updated to include military orders)

End of Turn Two:

The Stag who would be King: Robert Baratheon, Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, was stabbed to death in the Eyrie by an assassin several days after having declared himself to be the rightful King of Westeros.  However, the murderer was captured by the guards who'd been ordered to prevent the late Lord Baratheon from attempting to leave the Eyrie as he attempted to escape.  While the man initially insisted that he had been hired by the Targaryens, he confessed once placed upon the rack that none other than Lord Rickard Stark had hired him to murder Robert Baratheon and paid him extra to blame the Targaryens should he be captured.  The Stormlords are now calling for Lord Stark's head, chief among them, the new Lord Paramount of the Stormlands: Stannis Baratheon.

The Royal Bastard in Waiting: Lord Hoster Tully's forces have captured Lyanna Stark not far from the God's Eye.  Prince Rhaegar died of wounds that he suffered at the hands of one of Lord Tully's men, but Lyanna Stark was taken alive and claims to have been tricked into running away with the late Prince.  Complicating matters even further is the fact that Lyanna appears to be pregnant with Rhaegar's child.

A Wedding In Riverrun: The wait is finally over for Houses Tully and Stark. Lord Eddard Stark arrived at Riverrun with 5,000 northmen and 2,000 valemen at his back, along with the esteemed company of Jon Arryn's second heir, Ser Denys "The Darling of the Vale" Arryn. The wedding took place in the Riverrun sept, and the display of the bed sheet the next morning confirmed the consummation of the marriage. Two of the Great Houses of Westeros are now joined!

The Kraken In The Narrow Sea: Lord Quellon Greyjoy enjoyed a triumphant welcome in the Crownlands and Narrow Sea. House Rykker of Duskendale welcomed Lord Greyjoy, permitting his levies to camp outside the port city and feasting the Master of Ships in his own hall. Meanwhile, Lord Greyjoy's envoy led by Sygfryd Harlaw saw Lord Velaryon officially resign his post as Master of Ships, and turn over the Royal Fleet to Lord Greyjoy's command.

In naval campaigns, Balon Greyjoy lead an unsuccessful raid on the Dornish island Ghaston Grey. Though much of the garrison was defeated, the best Lord Balon could do was establish a blockade and naval siege of the island after a failed landing of his ground forces.

In response to Lord Robert Baratheon's proclomation, Sygfryd Harlaw led a second force against the house of Lord Robert's mother: House Estermont. The attack on Greenstone resulted in the death of the elderly Lord Estermont as well as the capture of now-Lord Eldon Estermont, the Lady Argella Estermont, and Lord Eldon's brother Ser Lomas. Ser Aemon Estermont, the heir to Lord Eldon, commands the garrison on Greenstone while Lord Harlaw besieges them by sea.

Life At The Twins: Lord Walder successfully silenced his family members who wished him to join the Lords Declarant, and good thing; mere days later word reached the Twins that Lord Tully's forces had captured Lyanna Stark and killed Prince Rhaegar in the struggle.

The Golden Hand: Lord Varys opened the gates of the Red Keep to Lord Mace Tyrell and the City Watch bent their spears as he passed through the King's Gate off the Rose Road. Lord Tyrell took a slow, showy procession through King's Landing, passing the Sept of Baelor where he called a halt to pray outside of the Sept before continuing on to the castle.

Upon reaching the Red Keep the Kingsguard presented Lord Mace to King Viserys II Targaryen in the throne room, acknowledging his authority as Hand of the King.

After gaining the City Watch and Kingsguard to his side, Lord Tyrell wasted no time in calling a meeting of the Small Council. With his new Master of Ships ensconced at Duskendale, the rest of the Council affirmed their support for the Lord of Highgarden as the Hand of the King.  The new Hand also received news that while Orton Merryweather had not yet been brought to heel, the other rebel houses in the Reach had been either wiped out entirely by Lord Randyll Tarly's forces or in the case of House Ashford and House Fossoway, surrendered and begged for mercy.

Note: Badgate helped some with this extended turn end, but part of the confusion seems to be that I was going to touch on a lot of this in the objectives.  Just for the record regarding Rhaegar, I rolled three dice and only a four or an eighteen would have caused him to die (I got two ones and a two lol).

Mid 282 AL: Turn Three

General View

The Seven Kingdoms are rocked by the actions of Lord Rickard Stark. Lord Mace Tyrell has taken control of the Red Keep, propping up the reign of the boy Viserys II Targaryen. Lords across the South call for Lord Stark's head, while his bannermen counsel him to take the Black to avoid the chopping block. Meanwhile, the Realm saw the swift downfall of the Lords Declarant, deflated by the death of Prince Rhaegar at the hands of Lord Hoster Tully's men. The rescued Lady Lyanna now holds a Targaryen bastard in her belly, though, and that could be a dangerous thing...

And finally, the doomed Lord Stark has dreamed a greendream that could rock the new found peace in the South; if he chooses to reveal it, and if anyone believes him...

Lord Hoster Tully
-Prestige: 9/10
-Gold: 1,399,800 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10

-Congratulations! The Lord Regent has named you Master of Coin. You must come to King's Landing; will you depart immediately or wait, and who will rule in Riverrun in your stead?

-Your maester has suggested that he could give the Lady Lyanna a Tansy tea to end her pregnancy with Rhaegar's child. Will you send your maester to offer Lady Lyanna the tea?

-House Whent has bent the knee. Will you require wards as captives as punishment for their rebellion?

Lord Tywin Lannister
-Prestige: 8/10
-Gold: Unlimited GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-You have sat out the conflicts of the other Lords Paramount, but now it may have been to your detriment: House Lannister and the West look to be weakened by rising stars in Lord Tully, Greyjoy, and Tyrell. The time has come to remind the Seven Kingdoms that Lannisters pay their debts.

Prince Doran Martell
-Prestige: 8/10
-Gold: 1,650,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-You have secured a betrothal of Princess Rhaenys with King Viserys, effectively neutralizing so many problems for Dorne and House Martell's legacy. Will you send your armies home?

Lord Walder Frey
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 489,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Lord Tully has taken the royals, and taken all the credit. Now that your son returns to the Twins, is it time to detach yourself from the thumb of Riverrun?

-Lord Stark will have to pay a toll when he brings his 5,000 northmen home. What will it be?

Lord Mace Tyrell
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 3,000,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 8/10

-Congratulations on your success in the Red Keep! However outside the castle walls, the smallfolk are enraged by the news of Rhaegar's death. No one associated with the Reach is safe in Flea Bottom; two of your Green Cloaks were found dismembered in the sewers just this morning. How will you secure your safety and ease the crisis?

-The Small Council all agrees that the coronation preparations should commence at once. What will it be? And who will pay?

Lord Quellon Greyjoy
-Prestige: 9/10
-Gold: 900,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10

-Your star has risen even higher, Lord Greyjoy. Lord Velaryon stepped down as Master of Ships and acknowledged that you now hold the office. Consequently, you now command the Royal Fleet and the Fleet of Dragonstone!

-Though the threat of war with Dorne seems to decrease with every passing day, the Second Sons evaded your blockade on their way to Ghost Hill. Will you take your revenge when they leave the Seven Kingdoms?

-Your assaults on Ghaston Grey and Estermont were mildly successful, both resulting in sieges. Will you order new attempts to take the castles or withdraw your forces?

-Lord Dayne has laid down his rebellion, and requests his youngest sister be returned home.

Lord Rickard Stark
-Prestige: 5/10
-Gold: 1,800,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 7/10

-You have brought great embarrassment to House Stark and the North with your murder of Robert Baratheon. Will you go to the Wall and swear the vows before armies come north for you, or will you go South and surrender yourself to those you have wronged?

-You have dreamed a green dream of monumental importance, but with your credibility fractured will anyone believe you if you choose to reveal the truth?

Lord Stannis Baratheon
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 1,000,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 8/10

-Your brother is dead at the hands of Lord Stark's assassin. Will you call for his head?

-Your brother had raised his name as a potential successor to Aerys Targaryen; after all, your grandmother was the younger daughter of King Aegon V Targaryen. Houses Tarth and Buckler had already joined his cause when news of his death incited more support for you amongst the Stormloards. Now the new troops your brother had called to banners arrive at Storm's End, and each new Stormlord who joins you has but one question on their lips: Will you name yourself a claimant to the Iron throne?

-You are a bachelor, and could bring a great force on your side with the right marriage betrothal. Even if you don't declare yourself a claimant, you need a Lady Baratheon soon.

Lord Jon Arryn
Prestige: 7/10
Gold: 2,200,000 GD
Legitimacy: 9/10

-You failed to protect your ward, Robert Baratheon, who was murdered in your halls. How will you make this up to the new Lord of Storm's End, Lord Stannis?

-Lord Greyjoy has assaulted both Dornish and Stormland ports; is Gulltown or Runestone next? Will you reach out to the Kraken in the Narrow Sea and try to make an ally in place of a potential enemy?

-Lord Grafton's son has agreed to your terms, but you may want to send someone you trust to Gulltown to be your eyes and ears for the time being...

End of Turn Three: Mid-282

General View

The Realm seems to be falling to turmoil all around. In the North, Lord Rickard Stark has defied the Crown and marched seven-thousand northern soldiers on The Twins. In the South, Lord Tully mourns his daughter's death while on the road to take the Twins himself. Quellon Greyjoy has lost his Royal Fleet and arrived alone in King's Landing to stand trial for his son's actions at Riverrun. And in the captial, Mace Tyrell continues to grapple with the challenges of his Regency, facing an embarrassment with Lord Lannister and seeing the smallfolk of King's Landing credit the boy Viserys with the popular execution of pyromancers.

The Red Night
Both Lord Frey and Lord Greyjoy were implicated when Victarion Greyjoy, Germund Botley, and ten Frey household soldiers stole into Riverrun under darkness and attempted to kidnap Lady Lyanna Stark. Though the Crown places much of the blame on the Greyjoys, having clearly led the assault, Lord Tully has stripped House Frey of all titles and allied himself with the North to depose them of their lands and keeps.

The Siege of The Twins
Lord Frey may have called his banners, but his castle walls will have to hold strong. Lord Walder fortified the Twins with five-thousand soldiers, but awoke the next morning to discover that the levies of petty Lord Erenford had left in the night under orders of Lord Hoster Tully. The Freys soon found themselves trapped between two Northern armies, one led by the father and the other by the son. Early riders also report that Lord Tully will soon arrive at the Twins himself, with a third army at his back.

The Kraken
The actions of Victarion Greyjoy have caused much strife for his father's climb. Without blinking, the captains he bribed in the Royal Fleet went back to Velaryon, and he was summoned to King's Landing for trial and ordered to enter the city alone.

His engagements in Estermont and Ghaston Grey were abandoned upon order of the crown, cowing him to Lord Tyrell in the eyes of the Westeros nobility. Unfortunately Lord Greyjoy's message to his son Euron was lost at sea, and Euron Greyjoy and a company of ten-thousand Volantene sellswords landed on Cracklaw Point. Riders for the nearby lords report that the army marches south toward Duskendale.

The Fall Of Griffin's Roost
In a forceful show of support for Lord Tyrell's regency, Balon Greyjoy led a successful capture of Griffin's Roost. The son of Lord Greyjoy writes that he has captured Jon Connington alive and awaits further instruction with what to do with the prisoner.

Hear Me Roar
In his eagerness to win the alliance of the powerful Tywin Lannister, Lord Regent Mace Tyrell broke precedent by releasing the young Ser Jaime Lannister from his vows and sending him home to Casterly Rock with a royal escort. However, Lord Tywin had other notions. Despite announcing that he had departed the Rock to take up the office of Hand in King's Landing, his own soldiers met with the royal escort and ordered them to surrender. When they did not, the Westerlander soldiers slaughtered Ser Jaime's royal escort to a man. The young Lannister was injured in the battle, and he and his loyal western escort were forced to stop at Cornfield to recuperate before heading to the Rock.

News From The Capital
King's Landing brews with tension from threats without and within. Lord Mace's attempts at intrigue fail when Varys reports to him that the Stormlords will all choose Stannis over him. The mobs call for Lord Tully to stand trial now, to answer to the death of Prince Rhaegar, while his Green Cloaks continue to be persona non grata on the streets of King's Landing. Lord Tyrell's attempts to infiltrate all manner of industry within the city with Reach influence are met with a handful of dead ends, and the crowds credit Viserys with every positive thing that happens, not the Lord of Highgarden.

In fact Mace Tyrell's only shining success is his command over the City Watch, and the loyalty that the lords of the Crownlands now swear to him as Lord Regent. This alone may save him, as even Lord Varys was unable to predict the worst development of all: Stannis Baratheon has commanded the march of an army from Storm's End, currently making its way through the Kingswood toward's King's Landing.

End of Turn Four: Late 282 AL

General View
The realm is at war. The Twins have fallen in a savage assault by the combined forces of the North and Riverlands. Ser Brynden Tully has taken refuge Stone Hedge after facing an assault from the invading Ironborn. In the capital, a King has been crowned and anointed by the High Septon, and Victarion and Quellon Greyjoy have been forced to face their circumstances head on. Meanwhile on the Blackwater river, Lord Randyll Tarly and Lord Stannis Baratheon clashed in a vicious battle...

The Fall of the Crossing
Despite the disadvantage in numbers, Lord Walder Frey refused to yield to the Starks and Tullys, preparing the Twins' defenses. However Lord Tully's siege equipment undid this important work, and after charges led by Lord Eddard Stark, Lord Blackwood, Lord Vance, and finally Lord Hoster Tully himself led the fourth and successful charge from the south. The whole of House Frey surrendered, and Lord Bolton's men handed over custody of Lord Walder to Lord Hoster when the battle was done.

Ser Brynden Tully, whose forces were meant to link up with his brother's, was delayed when the Iron Fleet sailed up the Trident following a failed attempt to sail past the Tyrell blockade. Four-hundred of Ser Brynden's forces were destroyed, and the following night he himself was nearly murdered by a peasant man who had snuck into the army's camp. The Knights of the Blackfish were forced to stop at Stone Hedge to regroup following the events.

The Black Wolf
Lord Rickard Stark, facing the apparent truth that his command of the Northern army was a detriment to their cause, departed for the Wall to take the black. His final act as patriarch of his house was to arrange a marriage between his son, Benjen, with the Lady Dacey Mormont. Mere days after the Twins were successfully taken, Lord Eddard Stark and Lord Roose Bolton received a raven from the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, confirming that Rickard had taken the Nights Watch vows and that Eddard was now Lord of Winterfell.

Coronation in the Capital
With the conflict over Ser Jaime Lannister's royal escort resolved, Lord Tywin and Lord Regent Mace Tyrell came to an uneasy alliance, albeit a profitable one for the Regent. With the finances in place, a small coronation was held at the Sept of Baelor for King Viserys III Targaryen. This was met with jeers from the crowds of smallfolk, who have proven extremely susceptible to the propaganda being spread calling for justice for Rhaegar Targaryen. Meanwhile Mace Tyrell's own attempts to persuade the smallfolk continue to disappoint, as many call for Stannis to come to King's Landing.

Two weeks after the coronation, a coordinated effort of twenty-six spies incited as many fires across the city, killing hundreds and destroying whole blocks of property and business. Twenty-four other spies were found in the aftermath, having failed in their attempts to light similar fires. The city is in a panic as to who was behind the terrorism, and as a result the streets have continued to be hostile toward those who enforce the Iron Throne's laws: the City Watch, the Green Cloaks, even in some corners the Greyjoys have been named as culprits and agitators in the scheming behind the fires.

The Trial of Quellon Greyjoy
Lord Quellon Greyjoy demanded a trial by combat, and the crown chose Ser Oswell Whent of the Kingsguard as its champion. Lord Greyjoy fought with the legendary Drumm blade Red Rain, but after a short exchange of blows it was clear that the Seven favored Ser Oswell. With his son watching on, Quellon Greyjoy died fighting to prove his innocence in the matter of Riverrun.

The Trial of Victarion Greyjoy
The time had come for Victarion Greyjoy's trial. Lord Tyrell opened by informing the young Ironborn that he had been set up by the Freys and members of his own family wishing to push him aside. Though the teenager seemed tempted to take the out and hope for mercy, he demanded a trial by combat in the end. The crown put forth Ser Arthur Dayne as its champion. It was an eighteen-minute clash that had the entire court on the edge of its seats, but to the shock of all Victarion Greyjoy managed to disarm, then dismember, the Sword in the Morning. Having won his trial by battle, the crown was forced to acknowledge that the Seven had declared him innocent, and he was set free to leave King's Landing.

The Second Battle of Griffin's Roost
Led by Lord Swann, an army flying the banner of Stannis Baratheon assaulted Balon Greyjoy within Griffin's Roost mere days before the new Lord Reaper had intended to leave to regroup with the Iron Fleet. Unfortunately for Lord Balon, the Stormlords burned the ships in the harbor while the majority of the Ironborn garrison were defending from a land assault by the army of Lord Swann. Following an unsuccessful attempt to take the castle, Lord Swann's remaining men set up siege, effectively trapping Balon Greyjoy for the time being.

The Vale Takes Flight
Lord Jon Arryn was the cause of another battle at the end of the year two-hundred and eighty-two; having led his army of Vale knights down the high road he was surprised to find the Greyjoy sellswords encamped at Darry, and apparently without their Kraken commanders. Biding his time, Lord Arryn waited until his scouts reported that Euron Greyjoy and a small band of fighters had landed skiffs on the shore of the Trident and returned to the sellsword army.

Thinking to take advantage of the timing, Lord Arryn sounded the attack. The Knights of the Vale charged into the waters of the Trident, dealing heavy blows to the sellswords with each pass. As the sun began to rise in the east, Euron Greyjoy saw his heavy losses and was forced to command a retreat. The battered sellsword host charged south, toward Harrenhall, while Lord Arryn encamped his levies at Darry to rest them after the battle.

The Battle of the Blackwater Rush
When word broke of Lord Stannis Baratheon's declaration to dethrone the Targaryen Dynasty, and his leading an army into the Kingswood, Lord Regent Mace Tyrell took every precaution imaginable to protect the capital and the administration he loves so dear. Lord Tarly marched immediately from Ashford, and the Oldtown fleet was tasked with bringing a Dornish army led by Prince Oberyn Martell to King's Landing by sea. One army still sails through the Blackwater bay, but Lord Tarly met another roadblock: the army of Stannis Baratheon.

Lord Stannis had set his army to fording the Blackwater, gaining a strategic and useful geographic advantage. A cautious Lord Tarly chose to assault, initially beating back Lord Stannis into the rushing water.

A horn sounded that saw the final act of the battle. From the east, a cavalry of three-thousand concealed behind the hills charged into Lord Tarly's host, followed by a skirmishing party of eight-hundred taking the rearguard from the south. Surrounded, the Blackwater Rush was filled with floating Reachmen within the hour. Injured but still alive, Randyll Tarly was forced to call a retreat, eventually settling his remaining men at Tumbleton to regroup after the loss. Meanwhile, the army of Stannis Baratheon has arrived within sight of King's Landing, and a siege has begun...

End of Turn 5: Late 282 AL

General View

The Ironborn Regroup
While many believed Euron Greyjoy to be leading his sellswords on an assault on Harrenhall, instead the army turned east for the Iron Fleet at Saltpans. Despite a brief skirmish with outriders for a large Vale host, the army made it to the sea quickly. However, the Iron Fleet was met by a blockade of Redwyne ships at the Bay of Crabs. Forced to attack or retreat, Euron Greyjoy led the fleet on a daring attack against the Royalist navy. With Euron's assault breaking through the front lines, the Iron Fleet made short work of the Reach ships as they poured into the Bay. As the sun set on the shores of Cracklaw Point, the remains of Lord Redwyn's fleet had been forced to make harbor at Gulltown, as the victorious Iron Fleet sped into Blackwater Bay.

Of Weddings and Executions
Before placing Lord Bracken in charge of a thousand-man garrison of the Twins, Lord Hoster Tully oversaw the execution of Walder Frey. His immediate kin, the whole of House Frey, was marched in fetters all the way to Riverrun, where they now reside as prisoners. The Late Lord Frey's more distant relatives and cousins were offered the chance to take the black, though most refused and were executed on the spot. Ser Arwood Frey, however, was one such who asked to join the Night's Watch. His marriage now voided, the Lady Ryella Royce was granted an escort to the Vale to rejoin her family at Runestone.

In Winterfell, the daughter of Lady Mormont wed Benjen Stark after their three-month engagement. Lady Dacey Stark and Benjen departed for a trip to visit her family on Bear Island two weeks after their wedding vows.

Meanwhile, at the Dreadfort, Lord Roose Bolton wed the Lady Karsi Umber, the only daughter of Mors "Crowfood" Umber. House Umber, as well as Lady Catelyn and the Bolton household and bannermen were in attendance.

Elsewhile in the Riverlands, Lord Eddard Stark officially became Lord Jon Arryn's good-son when Lord Arryn met with the Starks at the Inn-at-the-Crossroads and an engagement between Jon and Lyanna Stark was agreed upon. With 1,000 Valemen and his heir the Darling of the Vale joining them, they escorted Lady Lyanna to her new home in the Vale. A week after arriving at the Gates of the Moon, the wedding took place with many Lords and Ladies of the Vale in attendance.

The Flight of House Velaryon
Following his victory on the Blackwater, Stannis Baratheon reached out to Lord Velaryon, along with his new ally Balon Greyjoy. Together they proposed to join forces. Persuaded by the leadership of Lord Baratheon and the chance to turn an urgent threat into an ally, Lord Velaryon joined his navy with the Iron Fleet and launched an assault on Dragonstone. Euron Greyjoy successfully led a land assault on the castle as the Fleet of Dragonstone fought tooth and nail with the combined Royal Fleet and Iron Fleet. In the end, Euron Greyjoy had claimed Dragonstone and declared it the lawful seat of House Velaryon, while both fleets stood at an uneasy ceasefire in the seas beyond the island.

Runestone and Gulltown
Lord Yohn Royce was put in command of the Vale army at Darry, but he dispatched his cousin Ser Kyle to Gulltown to attempt to take up governance of the city with five-hundred men. Upon being denied entrance to Gull Castle by House Grafton's castellan, Ser Kyle and his men made camp on the northern side of the city. Despite these setbacks, Lord Royce was able to contribute to the construction of the Vale's fleet, and together with Lord Arryn they raised the sails of twenty-nine ships in Gulltown Bay.

Stannis Baratheon vs. The World
Lord Stannis Baratheon broke his siege of King's Landing mere days after it began, melting into the Kingswood before Lord Tarly's host returned to the Crownlands. Encamping in the woods, Stannis sent sorties to draw Tarly into the forest. After arriving within sight of King's Landing, Tarly did just that and drove his army into the Kingswood. Meanwhile, after rebuffing an attempt by the Lord Regent to change allegiances, Stannis' sellsword army added its numbers to the Lord's and managed to encircle Lord Tarly.

The strategy seemed at first to doom the Reach lord, but his brave mounted levies broke the Stormlander's formation and created a scene of utter chaos within the woods. Finally the horns of Lord Baratheon sounded retreat, and his men regrouped at the Wendwater while Lord Tarly limped back to King's Landing, alive but yet again facing a serious loss of soldiers.

Through a quick succession of negotiations, Balon Greyjoy managed to persuade Stannis to release him from Griffin's Roost, in exchange for the Ironborn's open support against King Viserys and the Lord Regent. As Lord Swann garrisoned Griffin's Roost, expecting an attack from Llewyn Martell's Dornish army, the Dornishman himself turned the army due north directly into the web of violence in the Kingswood. However, two small forces raised by Lord Dondarrion and Lord Mertyn joined together. The three-thousand-and-five-hundred men first attacked from the south as Prince Llewyn's army camped on the edge of the Kingswood; the Dornish however were able to put their spear lines into formation and thoroughly beat back the charge. It was the second attack, from the west from Lord Dondarrion, that broke Prince Llewyn's lines and forced them into a retreat so chaotic that it killed three-hundred men on its own.

Meanwhile, Lord Balon called on his father's previous ties to a handful of Riverland houses, and was able to convince House Piper and Goodbrook have both come out in support for Stannis Baratheon's rebellion. While news of Stannis' victory on the Blackwater has spread, he has also won the declared support of House Crakehall of the Westerlands, House Whent of Harrenhall, and Houses Waynwood, Waxley, and Corbray of the Vale.

At Storm's End, the waters of Shipbreaker Bay saw a record twenty-six new ships added to the Stormlander fleet. However, at fourty ships they were still no match for the second half of Lord Redwyn's fleet. The galleys exchanged blows for the better part of a day until a storm swept into the Bay. When all was said and done, only sixteen Stormlander ships remained, being forced to make port at Tarth for repairs and the attention of a maester.

Intrigue of Capital and Court
Lord Regent Mace Tyrell continued to rule without a Hand, as though he has appointed Lord Jon Arryn to replace Tywin Lannister, the Lord of the Eyrie instead marched home with his army and his new bride. In an attempt to calm the smallfolk after the fires that ravaged the city, Lord Tyrell ordered his own resources to fund the reconstruction of affected areas and open more charities throughout the city. Though the smallfolk take advantage of the Rose of Highgarden's generosity at every turn, they continue to feel ambivalent toward Lord Tyrell's reign. Further, the Tyrell propaganda machine succeeded in persuading the masses that the Greyjoys were responsible for the fires and the late Quellon's death in his trial was partially due to the Gods' displeasure with his attack on the city.

In the streets and squares, a crew of charismatic men have seen moderate success in converting the masses to a loyalist allegiance. Though the crowds calling for riot or Stannis or Brandon continue to fester, those in support of Viserys have begun to gain momentum throughout the city.

Lord Tyrell welcomed the arrival of Oberyn Martell and his army, but when Stannis Baratheon abandoned his siege the army was left to help fortify the city for any future attacks.

At court, rumors persist that Lord Tyrell has not yet cut ties with the Pyromancer Guild, despite his public execution of their leader when he first assumed the regency. Also, two vacancies on the Kingsguard were finally filled in official ceremony before the Iron Throne. The boy king Viserys laid the white cloak on Ser Richard Horpe and Ser Bonifer Hasty, who have replaced Llewyn Martell and Jaime Lannister, respectively. The empty seat created by the death of Ser Arthur Dayne remained vacant as Lord Tyrell waited to consult with Prince Doran on the appointment.

Raiders in the Reach
A mysteriously hired mummer carrying a skin of Stormlander wine and attempting to disguise a Stormlander accent hired a crew of thirty bandits to raise havoc around Horn Hill. Following the spoiling of many fountains in the town outside Horn Hill castle, the Tarly garrison arrested and executed the sellswords. Though their employer died with them, they were by all accounts Stormlanders sent to implement guerrilla tactics into the war between the Stormlands and the Reach.

Lord Hoster Tully
-Prestige: 9/10
-Gold: 1,050,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Now that House Frey is no more, will you finally take your place on the Small Council?

Lord Tywin Lannister
-Prestige: 9/10
-Gold: Unlimited GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Congratulations, Lord Lannister. Your army at Casterly Rock and your navy at Lannisport is complete! They both await orders.

-Your uncle Llewyn was defeated at the Kingswood, and he writes to you from Felwood where his soldiers besieged the small castle to recover from the battle. What is Ser Llewyn to do now?

-Your brother writes from King's Landing that Stannis disappointed and melted into the Kingswood instead of attacking the city. He asks for more exciting orders in his typically sardonic tone.

Lord Mace Tyrell

-Gold: 2,875,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 8/10

Lord Balon Greyjoy
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 1,017,500
-Legitimacy: 7/10

-You have pulled off the unthinkable. By winning Stannis to your side, you got yourself out of a tight spot in the Stormlands, and by winning the Velaryons, you helped to seriously weaken the Royalist power at sea. Now, with Dragonstone in Euron's hands, will you try and claim it for yourself or be true to your word and put it in the hands of Lord Velaryon?

-Notably, the Vale, Stormlands, North, and Westerlands have all begun or completed construction on war-time navies of their own. Will you seek to eliminate any of these potential threats?

-Will you now seek to sail home to Pyke, or lead the continuing Ironborn campaign in the Narrow Sea yourself?

-Your brother Victarion has yet to appear on Pyke, where he was meant to sail with your late father's companions Lord Botley and Drumm. Will you send ships to search for him or hope that news will arrive from Pyke soon?

Lord Eddard Stark
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 1,585,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Congratulations, Lord Stark! Lady Catelyn has given birth to a healthy baby girl, named Arya. They currently reside at the Dreadfort per Arya's wardship with House Bolton and betrothal to Lord Bolton's son. Will you join them there to see your daughter for the first time, or call them to Winterfell?

-You have returned to Winterfell victorious. Your sister is alive and wed to a noble and honorable lord. You have united the North and Riverlands through your marriage to Catelyn Tully. Men and women great and small alike drink to the birth of little Arya. Will you return south, to be a part of the rebellion against King Viserys and the Tyrells, or choose to stay in the North?

Lord Stannis Baratheon
-Prestige: 8/10
-Gold: 720,000 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10

-You have yet again bested Lord Tarly in battle, congratulations! However, Lord Tyrell has succeeded in consolidating his armies to the capital, making it nearly impossible to take by force at this time. What will you and your forces do instead?

-You made a calculated risk when you reached out to House Velaryon, but it worked. Now more houses across the South have declared support for you. Will you continue to put pressure on the Lords Paramount to join you or go it alone with the allies you have?

-Your lords seem pleased to see you married again, but Lord Baelish is insulted that you rebuffed the potential bride he brought back from Braavos. Additionally, it seems that you have offended the woman's merchant father, which could result in decreased trade between Gulltown and the Free Cities. How will you seek to remedy this?

Lord Roose Bolton

Legitimacy: 9/10

-Congratulations, Lord Bolton! You have wed the daughter of a noble Northern house, the Lady Karsi Umber.

-Your son has returned home thanks to the assistance of Lord Tywin Lannister. Will you seek to ward him elsewhere, perhaps with his new grandfather Ser Whoresbane Umber, or keep him at the Dreadfort?

Lord Alester Florent

Gold: 480,000 GD

-Your cousin Ser Kyle has failed to take control of Gulltown, having been rebuffed by the old Grafton castellan. Will you try and claim the city through force, which could incite a civil war within the Vale, or look to more diplomatic strategies?

-Lord Arryn has returned to the Eyrie with his new wife Lady Lyanna. Now in command of the Vale's main army at Darry, what will you do with the soldiers?

The realm is in pieces. The seven kingdoms are split and constantly at odds.

In the north, Queen Arya Stark has taken her crown as The White Wolf, after eighteen years under the thumb of Her Regent, Lord Roose Bolton. Taught her entire life that her uncle was evil and Her father a weak king who died in his sleep, little does the Queen in the North know she will soon meet her estranged relatives for the first time. While King Benjen Stark, the Black Wolf of the Neck has split the north in two, he brings to Winterfell an offering of peace: a litter of three Direwolf pups, found near the fallen body of their mother in the marshes of Moat Cailin.

Lyanna Arryn rules the Vale in her late husband's stead, though her son Brandan Arryn is a fierce fighter yearning to rise to Lordship. But his rule is threatened by the disloyal Royces of Runestone and Gulltown, a powerful faction that disavowed House Arryn upon the collapse of a central monarchy years ago.

The Reach is a barren land after two decades of civil war between the Tyrells and Florents. What once were prosperous fields that fed millions now lay trampled and burned, fertilizer only by the corpses of a hundred bitter battles.

The Riverlands, Stormlands, and West have seen the best of the last twenty years. After a combined effort that annexed the Iron Islands, reavers were finally expelled from the western coast of Westerns. Lord Edmure has risen in Riverrun, taking Lord Jaime Lannister's young daughter Myrcella as his bride. In Storm's End, King Stannis Baratheon rules over his people in peace, though bitterly haunted by his defeat in the final Blackwater Battle.

The Red Keep stands empty and still, a reminder of the Targaryen power that all but extinguished when King Viserys jumped from his bedroom window, the Princess Rhaella struggling in his arms. The Faith Militant rule King's Landing and guard the former castle, allowing none to enter. It is said the layers of dust that cover the Iron Throne have been undisturbed for over a decade.

The Greyjoys led heir people in the Step-stones, where the Ironborn resettled some fifteen years ago. Euron Greyjoy is famous across the Narrow Sea, his very name striking fear into the heart of every trading captain from Braavos to Qarth. Every other Greyjoy brother has mysteriously died in the time that has passed.

With the kingdoms on the brink of conflict once again, none had foreseen the arrival in Westeros of a small trading galley, carrying a mysterious and beautiful auburn-haired woman with water-blue eyes, accompanied by her sons: a lithe fighter with long silver hair and deep grey eyes and his brother, with auburn curls and eyes of blue like his mother's.
