...any straight person would be disgusted by the thought of gay sex, even if they say they are disgusted. No real straight person would have gay sex...

I agree with your overall point that most homophobes are suppressing same-sex attractions, but I dispute the above statement.  Why would a heterosexual be 'disgusted' by gay sex?  They may not prefer it, but I think a truly open minded person would not have such a strong reaction as disgust.  No, disgust ususally stems from some sort of repressive judgemental upbringing.

I think a few gays may be 'disgusted' by straight sex, though I suspect most just find it  uninteresting.  Why should straights' response to gay sex be anything stronger than disinterest?

For the same reason gay people are disgusted by vaginas. At least, most of the gay people I've talked to. Perhaps disgusted is the wrong word, but I am trying to emphasize a point.
It is the wrong word.  Uninterested is a better word.  Gays are much, much more willing to get it on with a girl than guys are with other guys.  And gays never go "ewwwwww a vagina" but many guys will go "ewwwww a penis" (even though they themselves most likely have one... odd).

Well most gay people I've talked to have even said "ewwww vagina".  So I don't know where you're getting that from.
Maybe as a joke.  If you really think gays have as strong a reaction to seeing a vagina as straight guys have to seeing a penis you need to climb out form under that rock.

A joke? Methinks not. That was not the context. As a Conservative, I wouldn't think you to know much about what gays think anyways.  Besides, if men were totally disgusted by the sight of penises, the porn industry would not be flourishing.

Once again, sexual orientation is a spectrum...it's not some binary, gay-or-not sort of deal.

Excellent point phknrocket1k!

We have way too many gays, both in office, on this board, and alive.

Fortunately, people who think like you were forcably removed from power 60 years ago and have recieved their rightful condemnation by history.

Don't get me wrong.  I solidly support your right to make a public fool of yourself.  I'd far rather people like you were 'out' and openly bigoted for the world to see, where concerned and honorable citizens can keep an eye on you.

Of course, you're still young.  You may yet mature into a responsible adult.  You wouldn't be the first person to regret tha calliousness of youth.

So, why do you hate enough to want such people dead?  What have gays ever done to you?  How do they threaten you?  What could have happened to make you so angry?

Of do you have such a low esteem of human life that you consider it cheap and easily expendable?  Of do you toss around such statements for shock value because you desperately crave attention?  What motivates and underlies such anger?

I am honestly curious.   Wanting a man dead is no small thing.  I could understand such rage if it were against an individual who harmed you (for victims of rape - straight or gay, such rage would be normal against the perpetuator).  But you don't seem to have suffered such a crime, have you?

What makes your hate tick?

For the record, we also have way too many Democrats, both in office, on this board, and alive.

The posts on this thread are so assanine.

1.  You can be gay and pro traditional marriage at the same time.

2.  To limit hatred of gays to closet gays is irrational and insane.  So there have been a few cases where a closet gay man was "anti-gay", this must mean that all people who hate gays are closet gays!!!  That's quite a leap folks.

3.  Thirdly, who the hell cares who is gay and who is not.  I don't and I don't understand why it's so important to people.  When it comes to policy I understand it has implications, but who cares how an individual decides to lead his own private life?

Why not? (Edit: My apologies. I misread your post rather horribly. -Alcon)

I do agree.

I, again, do agree.

Yeah, that was actually my point, not really well made, in about the second or third post on this thread.

I think I might be part of the "they" you refer to.  I am religious and my religion teaches that homesexuality is a sin.  I however, have never been taught to hate gays neither in a church or by my family.  What each individual does is between him and God and it is no one else's business.  Being against changing an institution such as marriage does not mean one is hateful.  It means they disagree that it should be done.  I actually can understand both sides of this debate and I hope we as a nation can resolve it and get on with bigger more important issues such as Social Security reform and balancing our budget.

I can only imagine what a difficult experience this was for the mayor, and for that my sympathies are with him. Honestly, this is one of the most difficult choices the gay community must make. Some people have not had the benefit of acceptance from themself and from others, but it is necessary to speak in our own defense. There is much to be gained from exposing the blatant hypocrisy of Ed Schrock, Jon Hinson, and the others, but we must always view this as a solemn duty carried out to fight off those who would do us wrong in the most elementary matters of justice. Above all, we must realize that at the heart of the matter, there is a personal tragedy for someone with similar experiences to us, and we must never remove that from our consideration.

....the way Michael Jackson says he sleeps with little boys? Smiley  (As in, just lying on the bed next to them).

Just busting your b**ls, man.  I like it when a person belonging to a 'victim' group doesn't conform to the politically correct stereotypes of how he or she is supposed to think.

Of course it does!  How many guys have you known intimately?  How many times a month do you go to a gay bar?  How many guys do you have "gay talk" with? (The equivalent of girl talk but for guys, covering the same subjects (usually), but not beer, girls, or cars.)
