When do Northern Ireland results come in?

The last, and largely Tory.

Northern Ireland results will arrive Friday afternoon around 4pm GMT I believe.

The main parties generally don't stand with separate Irish parties winning the seats generally.

Galloway won by standing in a high muslim proportion constituency and only talking about Iraq. Campaigners told people not to vote for King as she was Jewish, a lot of dirty campaigning there and race baiting.

States, the BNP won't win one, I am disgusted by their vote totals.

I guess Galloway getting elected is kinda like Carolyn Parrish getting re-elected in Canada.

Ok, I have a question. (bare with me guys)

If Labour is looking at a 60 seat majority.  Why are all of the news networks talking about Blair being replaced by this Gordon Brown?

Blair's been PM for 8 years, is not in any way as popular as Brown and is to centrist for many Labourites. Brown is seen as his heir-apparent.

I agree, they seem to be sadly very low.

Don't the Unionists always support the Tories?

I love the BBC guy attacking Galloway. "Are you proud of knocking out one of the few black women in parliament?"

That would never happen over here. All in all, the British are much more confrontational it seems, in their interviewing styles.

That was a really dumb question but I thought that was bad? The response by Galloway and then the argument with the anchor was unbelievable. Why can't this happen in America?  Smiley

you can get it on the bbc website

news.bbc.co.uk

Ya know, I wasn't for the Iraq War, but to call Blair a murderer and use that charge against Labour is disgusting.

There are plenty of attacks to make on labour, but that shouldn't be one of them.

you can make a reasonable guess by now.  360/200.  something like that.  I think much of what's left can be called "safe" seats.  So, those early polls Al was calling no good, by and large, told the story pretty good.  Of course, there was all that "all politics is local" aspect and a few upsets, but overall the reduced majority was what I saw predicted.  I don't think you can read too much into this.  The people are probably better off than they were in 1997 economically, and they certainly don't want to change governments, understandably.  This I'm guessing will be the major take in tomorrow's dailies.  I do think the Iraq War got more play in the UK election, just as it did in the US election, than it merited, based on exit polling.  I don't think that'll stop the talking heads from incessant babbling about Iraq and its effect on the election.

I have even more *respect* for Oona King after hearing her speech.  She was such an asset to parliment.... like Tony Blair, I wish we had her over here!

The C-SPAN feed was much better, but ended at 10PM EDT.  I gave up on the BBC video feed and am instead listening to the BBC world service radio feed.

I believe there are 50 seats left to call excluding Northern Ireland.  Tories must win 28 to reach 200.

There are 69 seats out and the Tories need 29 to break 200.  It's possible; it looks like a lot of what's out is in the central areas, which are tending Tory.

The total votes so far are almost identical to the initial exit poll of the BBC.
It seems they did a good job this time.
