Is he as far out there as Bunning, Falwell & Coburn??  No, however just because he isn't as extreme as they are doesn't mean he isn't extreme

He wants to get rid of free weather reports! Rick "Man on Dog" Santorum is definitely an extremist.

That could apply to about 80 or so of his fellow Senators as well.

now whenever Phil asks to name an issue he's an extremist on, here's one.

Ok well let's pick another issue, BRTD. To label someone an extremist, they have to hold extreme positions on a number of issues. You can't provide any other extreme positions.

(Oh and I advise you to look further into the free weather report issue.)

Santorum is not an extremist.

Conservative is a very good thing to be!!

I would much rather eat lunch with Conservatives like Santorum, Coburn, Falwell, than Liberals like Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi.

there is his views on gay sex being equivalent to bestiality as well.

by this logic though, I could argue opebo's not an extremist. I could also argue that I'm not an extremist therefore.

If Rick Santorum believed that gays were inferior, yes, I'd give you that point. However, in a town hall forum held after his comments, the Senator stated that gays were, like everyone else, the children of God. This man is not an extremist on the issue of gays or anything else.

I'm a strong Southern Baptist Christian, and I have reservations about Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwel.  They provide good insight on political and national and international matters, but I don't trust their spiritual guidance.

The gay sex-beastiality comparrison;  How is that really any different than what lots of other conservatives say?  Other than hearing about this quote I really don't know enough about Santorum to say.

That said, I've never particularly liked Santorum, anyway.

He is an extremist and it isn't just about his views on gay rights.  He's also a staunch enemy of labor, the environment, women, and public schools.

Its really quite hard to find someone further to the right.

He hides it though by saying one thing and voting another way.

except he's not extreme in the defense of liberty, he's extreme in wanting to take AWAY liberty. He thinks the government should make consensual acts between adults illegal.

Anyone that thinks Casey needs to be better known in the state (you) needs to be smacked upside the face a few times.

Well, in his defense, his approval rating is something like 42-6. That means 52% of people, whether or not they know of him, have not articulated an opinion on him.

No he's not an extremist. Being against gay "rights" and being an enemy of labor and the public schools isn't extreme.

heh, good point.  I don't know much about this guy, or if he'll really be an improvement over Bush.
