Ah yes. We all saw this coming. He's literally done this with almost every job he's interviewed for. "Only three people for 2 jobs!!! There's no way I won't have a job 24 hours from now!" And 1 day later, "they decided to interview more people. I don't need it. I have X calling me soon."

I was waiting for someone to make that joke.

Anyway, he's had five status updates about a children's spelling bee tonight. I'm certainly getting a bit concerned.

To be fair, it is the National Spelling Bee.

what is the end game here?  he is stuck in a year's lease in a city he has no particular reason to be in.

how long can his parents afford to pay his bills before they go completely bankrupt?

Give the landlord notice that you are leaving, and the landlord will be constrained to try to re-rent the place to mitigate damages. Presumably it would not be difficult to re-rent the pad at the same, or close to the same, rent rate. Just why Jeff chose to sign a year lease (if that is in fact what happened, and I have learned from experience not to assume the accuracy of just about anything that is posted with respect to the facts regarding Jeff's activities), rather than a month to month lease, given the short half lives of his relocations, escapes me, but that will not be the first time I am left confused by Jeff's choices in life.

No, Bushie should not go back to OKC. What he should do is get a job at McDonald's in Tulsa.

No, Bushie should not go back to OKC. What he should do is declare disability and collect a government check in Tulsa.

Yes, he needs to get over his prideful nature and just take disability. He really wouldn't be exaggerating when he applied for it either. He is incapable of holding a job.

Incompetance is not enough. You guys act like getting SSDI is easy. It's not. I also don't think he could handle working fast food. There's a lot of requisite quickness and standing involved. And, of course, one needs to show up regularly.

Working in the fast food industry would be ridiculous for Bushie.  He should look into a clerk-type gig at the post office, which I believe he has in the past.  Or go to North Dakota.

Why should anyone expect to get disability before even attempting to receive professional help?

What exactly do you think "professional help" would do for him?Mental health people aren't wizards. They can do a limited number of things. They can engage a patient in talk therapy and psychiatrists can prescribe drugs, most of which are either downers or ineffective SSRIs. All the talking and drugs in the world aren't going to fix his personality.

and this isnt directed at bushie personally...just a hypothetical:

why should the government subsidize those to watch 18 hours of tv a day, all because they have some mental conditions that they *refuse* to seek any kind of treatment for?

as someone who has struggled with mental illness and has worked hard to overcome it, the above notion is offensive to me.

speaking from experience, both medications and therapy can be very, very helpful.  certainly more helpful than watching tv all day and praying things will change.

I've seen a lot of obese fast wood workers.

But seriously, if he can't cut it at minimum wage and with the Tourette's diagnosis/maybe an OCD diagnosis along with the terrible work history, he's an easy disability claim.
