Definitely not.

My whole opinion of the situation would be based upon the quality of the person, not the person's race.  I would view that as irrelevant.

Same here. I don't see how anyone could honestly not be upset.

Well I wouldn't, because I don't care who my hypothetical daughter marries as long as he can provide for her and treats her right.

Perhaps you both could tell us why you would be upset?

No, and I don't really understand why anyone would be upset.

No.

Heck, I hope to marry an [East] Asian, so I see nothing wrong with it.

You would disown her?  Are you AuH20 in disguise?

Assuming you're serious, you have some very odd opinions for a communist.

OK then.  So why would you disown her?

I'm guessing the answer is - you're a racist.

Wow, now novel - your posts are usually pages long.. now when I'm interested they're one word.

Please elaborate - what race are you, and what exactly do you think is wrong with the other races?

White, I don't like racial mixing, purity resonates pride.

You guys can do whatever you want, but I'm ensuring purity.

Same here. I don't see how anyone could honestly not be upset.

Well I wouldn't, because I don't care who my hypothetical daughter marries as long as he can provide for her and treats her right.

Perhaps you both could tell us why you would be upset?

I can't speak for Nick, but it would be strange for me. All of you are saying "it doesn't make a difference". It's a noble sentiment, to be sure, but let's be realistic- it would make a difference in practice, if not in theory.

But how?  Like I said in my earlier post, as long as he provides and cares for her, it doesn't really matter who she marries.  Why would it be any different in practice?

No, I would prefer an Irish Catholic but it wouldn't make a much of a differance after that.  I would be more upset at marrying outside the faith than outside the race.

Like I said, it would be strange. This doesn't have anything to do with the man's ability to care for her- this is a purely psychological issue. Most people would be at least somewhat uncomfortable with a black son in law.

Why is that? I'm afraid I can't understand that. Do you dislike black people in general or is this a specific relationship-oriented thing?

In your opinion perhaps.  We'll have to disagree on that.  Though I'm not sure where the 'most people' argument comes from.

I would respond as to why I would be upset, uncomfortable, or whatever, but it will just result in a "YOUR A RACIST" arguement, which is totally ridiculous.

I didn't think you were a racist, but you saying you'd be upset if your daughter married outside her race kinda warrants a different opinion.  I'd be happy to hear your side of things, and I've never called anybody a racist.
