Next Northern Ireland Assembly election

Given that I’m culturally Catholic, then there are certain parties I would vote for and other I would not (where parties stand on LGBT issues are also very important) Where I lived would depend on how I voted and given the nuances of the Northern Irish system my vote would vary. In brief;

SDLP over any other party
Sinn Fein over any Unionist party if it is in a stronger position to defeat them than the SDLP
Alliance over any Unionist party if it is in a stronger position to defeat them than the SDLP or Sinn Fein
Ulster Unionists over the DUP or any minor Unionist party if the Nationalist parties, Alliance or any independent or minor outfit can’t defeat them
If the contest is between the DUP and small paramilitary unionists off-shoots, vote for a minor candidate or abstain.
