This is over, folks. Gomez will win... The tea party is back! Tea party started in Boston 250 years ago. Then, like a phoenix, it resurrected again in 2010 with Scott Brown, then died again. And, like a phoenix (again) it will return to life with the Mexican!

Brown won Ipswich handily in '10. Markey cleaning up there now. As I said, margin will be the only interesting thing.

Lol what? 21% is in. Gomez may win, but it will be close and nothing is certain. And as for the last line about "the Mexican", well that is just a good display of left wing tolerance, Julio.

You say that because you are also a Mexican, mr. Sánchez.

Markey takes the lead.  Unlikely to give it up from here.

And Markey takes the lead with 38% reporting and nothing out of Boston.  He has this in the bag.

If I had to guess I think Gomez will end up with 45-46% of the vote, much better than expected.

I'm a white Anglo-Saxon protestant with an Italian last name, actually. I have no idea why I joined as ChairmanSanchez, but it has to do with Superpower 2 Tongue.

That wasn't a bad decision. Sánchez is a Spanish surname and God knows Spaniards are the f***** masters of the World.

I've read on twitter that Boston will vote for Gómez.

On paper, Gomez is an absolute gem of a candidate for the GOP. If only he could play politician.

51.3-48.3 with 49%. Generic D always thumps Generic R in MA.

17% reporting in Boston, Markey leads by 37 points in the city. Surprising.

Results coming in from Boston. Still only 30% of the Suffolk results are in, but Markey's lead there is smaller than I expected.

Yep.  But note that Markey is underperforming Warren in that 17%.  Shows Markey's margin of victory could very well be below Warren in 2012.

A black Irish will always beat a Mexican in Massachusetts. The state is full of racist Irish people.

Gomez's biggest mistake was not accepting Markey's "People's Pledge" offer; it probably cost him half a percentage point or so in and of itself and, while it was made in bad faith (Markey had a bunch of outside groups spend on his behalf against Lynch despite said "Pledge" in the primary race), it would have at least put Markey in the uncomfortable position of having to denounce his own supporters on daily basis.  Gomez's campaign shoulda known the NRSC only intervenes in "reach" races when there's an incumbent to protect.
