Good Wednesday Morning! It is 8:15 am and I have been awake for 25 minutes. I slept well this morning for 7 1/2 hours. A little later this morning, I am going to finish packing my suitcase. About 14:30, I am going to go over to my grandmother's and visit with her for 30-45 minutes one last time before I go. I will get my shower about 16:30 and then head to church at 17:45. Bible Study from 18:30-19:30 and then meeting with a local pastor from 19:30-20:45. I will be in bed right at midnight so I can be up at 03:00 am

Try noticing how your body reacts to a couple of weeks on healthy food and drinking water, you might like it Wink Also, you got a piece of good advice from someone awhile back about volunteering in the kitchen and learning some recipes. Ill just second that.

Thank, politicus!

That was great advice about volunteering in the kitchen.  I think I mentioned earlier that is one of the things I'm aiming for is the kitchen and seeing how I can transfer the recipes from a Kenyan kitchen to an American kitchen which are not the same thing.

I think I'm going to leave here a little early this evening, about 17:15 and go get some Subway for dinner.  It will be the fastest and probably healthiest option for such a busy evening.

But you won't get burgers in Kenya........one last Doube Quarter Pounder for road sounds good, no?

If the place is still there, there is an eatery at the Nairobi airport that I can get a hamburger or a few other American sandwiches on the way back.  The last burger I have I'm sure will be in the Brussels Airport, maybe Dulles and then on the way back, it will either be in Nairobi or Zurich for the first burger.

Good lord, Bushie has already mapped out all the ways he's going to be able to stuff his face full of hamburgers in the next few weeks.

Safe travels. Bushie. I hope this trip provides you with an opportunity for self-reflection. Not many people have the opportunity to travel all the way to Africa. Try to learn from the experience of being around people whose lives are so different that yours.

While I agree the dog needs some socialization and shelter, it would be nice to see the Forum half as outraged about the conditions of the human characters in the story. Daddy works 60 hours a week just to keep the family in a trailer. How about some indignation about that situation?

They're just blinded by their stupid belief in free will and choices and all that sort of right-wing rot.

Speaking of right-wing, I'm starting to think you're drifting back that way, what with the plutocratic rate you are charging for your services lately, eating in fancy restaurants.......soon you'll be like  Torie.  Smiley

Haha, no, think of me as a loyal member of the Farang Union, demanding a Fair Wage.  Very left wing.  Today I had a decent foot massage and then a visit to a Soapy, total cost, about 2 hours and 15 minutes of my income.  (it so happened that neither were great, but still, my hours do go pretty far I guess).

Helping build churches and loving on kids, I presume. That's what most of these white missionaries do when they go to Africa. We've worked so hard in that country that they are more christian than we are!

Uh, if I"m not mistaken, Dr.  J., Bushie has used those words.  If not here, then on FB.

Yes, "loving on kids" (his words, not mine) is one of Bushie's favorite activities.

On an unrelated note, he has long resisted this forum's advice to shave off his pedophile mustache.

i will give bushie the benefit of the doubt.  i dont think he means anything bad when he says he enjoys loving on kids.

but

surely he can understand how some of us might be a little weirded out by his use of the phrase.  also his enjoyment of children's birthday parties is a little odd.  but i chalk that up to him being a big kid himself.
