I think a lot of stupidity is hard for a European to understand.  But such beliefs are common in the US and here in Asia too.

There are edibles, vaporizers, tinctures, cologne, smoke buddies and gum. Live it up.

The dispensaries I've been to also have infused olive oil for cooking, tabasco, candies, cookies, teas, soda, and even pills. Honestly, smoking is one of the worst ways to ingest THC. The medical marijuana doctors here recommend against it.

I don't think tea would work unless you put it in whole milk. THC is highly fat soluble and won't mix with water.

When I was in CA, I had some sort of weed frappaccino drink. Delicious and highly potent. I had to be careful not to drink too much, which was hard because I'm a compulsive snacker.

Regarding the smell, I haven't smoked weed in a long time, but used to smoke daily, so I'm very familiar with the scent. I will occassionally smell it on somebody, but it's much more subtle than the stench of cigarettes, which I can smell a mile away. The real telltale sign of a high person is the giggling, mumbling, and awkward coordination.

It's against the law. And I just think that when you've got something illegal that's so easy not to indulge in, it says a bit about your character when you actually go ahead and do it anyway. I mean, it's not the end of the world if my friends do it, but I wouldn't want to. Plus, my lack of initiative is bad enough without weed. I can't even imagine how irresponsible I'd be if mary jane became a part of my everyday life.

Casino gambling is much more addictive and much more of a blight on society. If you're going to make a parallel, it needs to be a much harder drug than weed. Did I mention I'll be in Vegas in March? Seriously.

As noted above, gambling does have a rather huge societal cost. I would have preferred that Nevada have retained a monopoly on it, rather than the practice metastasizing across the Fruited Plain. But yes, I know my views on that are rather eccentric - at least for a non-religious type.

I just was surprised that the pot heads you run into you find to be assholes. That certainly is not my experience.
