I like both, but in all seriousness I'd go with Germany because of the better metal scene.

It's hard to deny Germany does better on objective criteria, that said factoring in cultures makes it closer. I'd pick the devil I know. Wink

Germany on politics. France on everything else. Though I'd like to visit both one day. Tongue

Historically speaking, absolutely. One of the best. Nowadays I couldn't say.

FTR, regarding my answer, I like both countries.   Personally, I have a little Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry, so that helps Germany (as does Merkel), but my answer remains the same.  Toss-up.

So NJ voted for McClellan in 1864 and you just have to mention that... but you have nothing to say about Germany.  I was sure there was something... can't put my finger on it.

I fit in better politically in Germany, not to mention I like beer more than wine, although I do like a good bit of French bread and cheese.

Germany overall for me.

In regards to the metal scene thing, France might be the only country in the world where emoviolence is more popular than metal. In fact emoviolence is surprisingly mainstream in France.

Really? I've been living here for 16 years and never ever heard of "emoviolence". Does it have a different name in French?

The Germans are responsible for burning down my home city in 1944. Therefore your partial German ancestry makes you an unreconstructed Nazi murdered and arsonists.
