Walker also reiterated that he's open to a 2016 presidential run, but hasn't made up his mind yet ("I don’t rule anything out").

Walker went on to say that "ideally the nominee should be a governor, probably of a mid-westerns state, and ideally one that has a reputation for great cheese, as all Americans love great cheese"

Sanders insists that if he runs for president, it wouldn't be as a "spoiler".  And that it's an open question as to whether he'd run as a Democrat or a 3rd party / independent candidate:

Meanwhile, Rand Paul says that the GOP should nominate a presidential candidate just like Rand Paul.  When asked if it wouldn't be wise for the GOP to nominate a Washington outsider, he gave this response:

The New Republic excerpts a bit from "Double Down" about Jeb Bush not running in 2012 because he was too poor (apparently not a joke).....which may be relevant for 2016 as well:

None of the Democratic 2016ers were visiting Iowa in the first half of this year, but in the last couple of months, we've had visits by Biden, Dean, and Klobuchar.  Next up to visit Iowa?  Brian Schweitzer:

Ryan seems set on becoming W&M chair next year, but hasn't ruled out a POTUS run. So one leak one way, another the other, never 2 prez/W&M consecutively.

So this WaPo article on "GOP elders" wanting a governor quotes Branstad (who wanted a governor last time and won't endorse anyone), McCain and Cornyn.

Need more evidence that Walker is already looking ahead to 2016?  When asked what foreign policy experience he would bring to a presidential ticket, did Walker respond that it's only 2013, and that it's too early to be thinking about the 2016 election, and so it was a silly question?

No.  He treated the question seriously, and gave the following response:

Schweitzer continues to hint that he's considering a run:

Meanwhile, Santorum is interviewed by RCP, and says "I would do it differently" the next time around (should he run again):

He also talked about Obama being a corporatist and whether Hillary would be a progressive or go "hard right" if she won the nomination.
