Gingrich is a little kiss-assish for him, but he'd be a strong possibility as well.

Romney - most of the others are too extreme or too irrelevant.

No, he wouldn't endorse Romney. Whatever you think of Reagan  you can not say he was unprincipled. Romney clearly is unprincipled.

I think Reagan is rolling in his grave at the current field.

Depends on how alive, how well, and which stage of his career.

Meanwhile, John Bolton (alive) endorses Romney...

That is something... I would have expected him to endorse Gingrich

If Romney will pursue the foreing policy Bolton advocates, he will have my strong support rather then reluctant support in the general

I voted for who his son endorsed, but he'd almost surely stay out of it.

Is this a question that needs answering? Obviously the only consistent conservative in this race.

I think that, if Reagan were alive to survey the current field, he would just run himself.  When asked about why he didn't think the 22nd Amendment would deter him, he would say something like: "this is more important than the 22nd Amendment."  Smiley

I thought of that last part when I remembered that, in his first public remark after Bush 41's inauguration, Reagan quipped about the tragedy of the voters being denied their rights (to vote for him again).  Tongue

He would ask "are you sure we can't get Chris Christie to run?"

He'd return the favor and kindness shown him by endorsing Ron Paul. A Gingrich or Huntsman endorsement wouldn't be out of the question either.

Oh, and he'd endorse the guy who worked for him, not the ones who disowned him.

If you read him a list of the things the 44th president did (without telling him he was a Democrat), he'd mostly have high praise.

If an 101-year-old Reagan were somehow alive and well, there wouldn't be a primary.  He'd just hand pick someone.

He wouldn't endorse, but he would back Romney after it became obvious (beginning of February).
