If something happened along the route and you had to leave your children with Bob Dole or Bill Clinton, I think you would probably leave them with Bob Dole.

Gore: terrorist attacks are causing global warming; they must be stopped.

McCain: this will do wonders for my approval ratings.

Dole: well, that kind of sucks.

Browne: just let everyone take weapons on airplanes.

Nader: don't worry, the UN will handle it.

Err...I don't know...

Gore, obviously.  Though even Dole would'be be as atrocious as Bush - I believe he uses reason rather than religious inspiration in making his decisions.

McCain... I've always though that in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 Bush was spot on (interestingly this is when Cheney was furthest from him Smiley ), Gore and Dole would have been similar in their reactions though both would have attacked Afghanistan and probably Iraq (though the timing would have been different), Clinton would also have handled the situation well IMHO, then again Clinton presentational style can be very similar to Bush’s at times.

Honestly guys, a chimpanzee could have handled being President during 911.  It wasn't a difficult call.

*Kick intelligence community into overdrive to find those responsible.
*Make some emotional speeches.
*Visit disaster areas.
*Go into Afghanistan.

Heck if Gore had been President and done EXACTLY what Bush did the GOP would have criticized him for hesitating before attacking Afghanistan.  The 2004 election would have hinged on the GOP candidate declaring that Gore was responsible for letting Bin Laden go.

Why would Gore have gone into Iraq?

Sorry Opebo, that was a typo ... should have been "hesitated before attacking Afghanistan".  I corrected it.

Wow...it must stink to be John Kerry then. A U.S. Senator losing the Presidential election to a "chimpanzee." And not only did Kerry lose, that "chimpanzee" got over 60 million votes. That's rough.

Look who's laughing now, Traldan.

Indeed, what a concept...an intelligent person running for President, and actually almost beating a foolish chimp! Tongue

Wouldn't it be sad that the "smart person" couldn't beat the "chimp?"

Which brings us back to the whole problem of the intelligence of the American public in general. Tongue

They were smart enough four years ago when most Americans voted for Gore, right? They were brilliant when they voted for Clinton in '92 and '96, right?

Indeed.  This just shows their ability to be swayed by fear, rather than by rational thought.
